Pours black, beige head.
Aroma roasted malts, light bitter hops.
Taste, malty, roasted, some thin coffee and chocolate. Finish is lightly bitter with some caramel and roast. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Mar 29, 2009 Tap @ brewery. A "Scottish Stout", whatever that is. Essentially an American stout with a big winey roast character and a basic pale malt backing. Roasty aroma. A bit too much roasty twang for my taste. SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy May 2, 2008 Bottle: Poured a black brown with a medium beige color head. The aroma is sweet malts. Taste is sorta raosted malts but had a bitter hoppiness to it BigMilly8 (374), Holiday, Florida, USA Feb 24, 2008 From draft at Stogies and Stouts 2008, Dunedin Brewery : Pours dark brown, with a big time head. Nose is very strong, some malts, and a weird veggy smell i cant but my finger on. Taste is ok, some roasted malts and a little hoppyness in the middle. Medium to thick body, with a oily feel. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Feb 24, 2008 Draught sample at Stogies and Stouts 2008. Will update rating asap when my head stops pounding. padrefan98 (787), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Jan 7, 2008 Bottles shared at fordest’s tasting. Flavors of some chocolate and roasted burnt malts. Not the best tasting stout but still pretty good. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Jan 7, 2008 22 oz bottle shared with Ibrew2or3. Nice dark pour with a decent head. Aromas of chcolate and roasted malts. Flavors fell off a bit with touches of wet cardboard, but it had aged for a while, Dave told us. Overall, not too bad. wetherel (1565), Encinitas, California, USA Jan 5, 2008 Updated: Jan 7, 2008Tried at fordest’s tasting with ibrew2or3, fordest, padrefan98, toncatcher, and others. ibrew2or3 brought this from Florida. I think I was told this bottle was a few years old. Dark brown, small to no head. Small bubbles. Mild aroma. I like the way this beer has become. I image it may have been more harsh fresh, and has mellowed roastiness now.
