Aromas and tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, and some hops (pine). Hops come out more in the taste. Toffee came out in the aroma and taste as the beer warmed up a little. Body was very thin and watery. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Smokey, chocolatey, burnt nose with a whisper of pine. Charred, smokey flavor. Light-bodied and watery with fizzy carbonation. Short, bitter, ashen finish. Thanks go out to matta for the bottle. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2003 As black as beers get with a thin tan foamy cover. Good, complex roasted peat-malt aroma reminiscent of some imperial stouts minus the alcohol. Body is robust and flavorful. This is a very respectable dry stout. I'd have to say Dunedin is the best brewery in Florida. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 25, 2004 Deep black with a dark brown head. Smoky malt aroma, soapy too. Flavor is weird, soapy with a ton of smoked malts, and a sour dish-water flavor throughout. OK, but nothing great. Musty and with flavors of bark in the finish, the Cascade hops are evident in the finish as well. Thanks to Matta for the trade.
