redlight (1042), Winter Park, Florida, USA Jul 3, 2008 On tap @ Oldsmar Tap House. Roasty aromas, hints of coffee and burnt chocolate. Pours cloudy tan and settles into a dark black with a very densy and thick tan head. Very smooth flavors, roasted barley, coffee, burnt chocolates with a good bitterness. It has a great mouthfeel, very thick.
JMFG (1086), Florida, USA Aug 15, 2008 Draft @ Redlight. Black color with thick tan head. Light melba toast and wet grain aroma over some mild lactose tones. Palate was a bit thin. Nice balance - nutty light hazelnut and roast flavors, finish leaves a hint of roast. hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Aug 9, 2008 Nitro... Pitch black ale with a creamy, khaki head that never goes away. The aroma presents coffee and vanilla. I’m not picking up much, if any, chocolate. Light to medium-bodied and silky with expired carbonation. Sweet with mild burnt bitterness. Well-roasted, lightly sweet finish that dries out a little. Sandman2222 (34), Florida, USA Aug 8, 2008 Pretty good stout. I would make a comparison to Guinness, however, The DNS is much more complex. I liked the subtle coffee flavor with a more pronounced chocolate. It did the beer good. Finished kinda blandly, but I’d get it again. PhillyBeer2112 (1836), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jul 31, 2008 Draft @ Redlight. Black nitro’d cascading head. Nice roastiness in the nose, and then lots of chocolate and coffee in the flavor. Dry thinning finish, typical nitro body. But at least there’s some flavor in there. dchmela (686), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 28, 2008 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours black with a thick creamy head and I am sure would be confused with a Guinness. Metallic roasty grain aroma. Taste is smooth roasted grain and malt, the nitro really bringing out the coffee flavors and grains. A tasty little session stout that I would prefer over Guinness.
