#177 ** Dunedin Octoberfest Ale, Shit, this is really good Shit! I will drink the Shit out of this Shit!
** I am very pleased with this seasonal, it pours as beautiful as a Florida sunset, an amazing copper/golden body with edges of glowing gold and fleeting fizzy head. The aroma and flavor are very herbal, tealeaves, honey, sweet caramel malts, some notes of citrus hops. Like most of Dunedin’s brews, this is also light on the palate, a light/medium palate….. the finish begins caramel/sweet but then finishes with notes of a tart lemon essence. Quit different than the everyday Octoberfest, very enjoyable!

light amber color, a sort of fruity nose oddly enough. thank gawd no metallic aroma or flavor though. a nice slightly roasty taste, very thin mouthfeel though. honestly this is the best oktoberfest i’ve had so far this year.

beer pours a slightly hazy orange/tan, with a short-lived white head that leaves a nice collar but little lace. some nice toasted nut notes in the nose, with perhaps a somewhat berry-like fruitiness. flavor is pretty mellow - a little nutty sweetness up front, a lightly herbal hop flavor, some ok IBUs. pretty solid beer. perhaps a weird anise note drifts by in the finish. still, a pretty easy drinker in all.

Poured a medium, hazy amber color with an averaged sized white head. Strong butterscotch aroma with caramel and toffee. Nutty tasting as well.

Butterscotch aplenty at the nose . Sweet malts on the palate with a bitter finish. Would like to try a fresher bottle.

Big time butterscotch aroma and in the flavor, very different than any other oktoberfest i’ve had. Weird flavor but different and good.

16oz bottle. Clear copper color with thin off white head. The aroma is on the light side with mostly sweet malts. Nice flavor. Starts off sweet then hops enter the picture almost midway. A rich caramel and slight fruitiness build right at the midpoint and recede into a grainy pale malt character. Tasty beer.

Thin head with good carbonation. Medium orange amber in color. Big vanilla and butterscotch in the aroma. Delicious. Light, crisp and slightly fizzy palate. Thin body of primarily malts. Good amount of hops in the finish with a slight bitterness. Decent oktoberfest that starts off strong and finishes weak.
