Light amber/copper body with a frothy thumb thick white head that is fairly lasting. Sweet lightly caramel and grain accented malts with that gets a bit thin in the middle. Finishes with a bitter hoppy flourish. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Aroma makes you think, hey Hops are on the way, but sadly, the reserves haven’t been called in, and what you get is a pale ale that just teases you. Skip (206), Indiana, USA

Surprisingly grassy aroma. Flavor was a nice balance between biscuity malts and somewhat astringent earth oriented hops. A solid pale ale. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA

Starts out with a nice malt backbone, fading into a nice dose of earthy and bitter hops. Very well balanced. Medium body. Nice, especially coming out of Florida. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2004 Distinctly earthy hop aroma, along with some pine, dark citrus, floral notes and lightly roasted and sugary caramel maltiness. Deep copper color, clear, with a fine, creamy head and spidery lacing. Flavor profile is quite nicely balanced, the moderate hop bitterness bookended by the slightly nutty, toffeeish malt sweetness, and having a lightly spicy, herbal finish. Medium bodied, palate is fairly effervescent. Very nicely done, unique and refreshing American Pale. Cheers, Matt! FlacoAlto (2482), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2004 Pours a clear reddish copper color and is topped by a reasonably thick tan head. There is a nice persistent carbonation. Aromas of crystal malt and spicy hops, both in a good balance with each other. The hop aroma is slightly pine like, notes of citrus, basically subtle yet pungent at the same time. The taste is full of flavor, malty, hoppy and with a hint of diacetyl, which, is ever so slight so that it contributes positively to this beer. This is a fair bit more hoppy than I would have guessed from the aroma. This beer does not use your typical American suite of hops either, it is hopped with hops that are European in origin. The hops contribute a spicy, pine-type flavor that finishes with a nice bite of hop bitterness. This is a great beer, very well balanced with solid malt contributions. Eminently quaffable, and a great session beer.
