| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 12, 2006 Bottle from santa - pours a hazy straw color, with a gigantic head - aroma of grapefruit with sugar poured over the top of it - light body, light sweetness, light bitterness, light bready quality, pretty much light/weak in flavor overall - I suppose this makes it quite sessionable, but even session ales can be flavorful - this...is not. footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2006 Dark orange color with a towering head. Dusty and citrusy hop aroma. Very bone dry body, but more of a malt dryness than a bitter hop dryness. It kind of reminds me of an Alt, actually. None of the bombastic citrus hits that an APA typically has. Not bad, but not what I would label as a ’regular’ pale ale. krisbierjaeger (844), dolores, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2006 from sunny florida came this radiant pale ale, so orange and warming i can almost hear the surf and sea gulls. the foam was bubbly on the bottom of the head-- what you might call the ’chin’ of the head, but densely creamy starting at about the eyebrows. it’s thick and lingering: the kind of lather that an overworked camel would exude. the aroma is not huge, but it’s trying to convince me that i’m in the heart of a grapefruit rind, and it uses the right discriptors to put me there. backed by cookie malts, the harmony would be better if the malts stood just a little closer to the mic. the flavor is tightly "on message", sticking to the grapefruit rind talking points, and though some sweetness suggests dried apricots, the overall imbalance favors the bitterness. sharp carbonation gives a cleansing feel (it could probably remove rust)-- and like a disc-sander it preps an area to be painted with flavor-- a subsequent coat of enamel hops fill that space and lock on. desurfer (1068), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 20, 2006 Updated: Sep 29, 2006Medium amber/gold body, huge beige head. Lots of tasty floral hoppiness along with bready malts. Way too much carbonation, which is a significant drawback. More alcohol is present in the finish for a relatively low ABV brew. Pretty good.
Rerate: On tap, this is a much better pale ale, with the carbonation under control and less of a boozy aftertaste. zach8270 (2131), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2006 (bottle - 16 oz) Dark orange in color with a ton of tan foam. Aroma is light with some fruits mixed in with the hops. Kind of sweet and spicy. Flavor has a smooth but slightly metallic hop flavor followed by a spicy and hoppy finish. Some sweetness and caramel at the end. Extremely bubbly. One of the most carbonated beers I’ve ever had. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 22, 2006 Thanks to Degarth for sending this up to me in my SecretSanta box. Orang-red body with a huge frothy off-white head. Nice aroma, some light fruits with a nice yeast accent. Tast is fari, but with a bit too much diacetyl. Rather bland ending. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA
