Oddefellowe (28), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 15, 2009 Pours an opaque reddish brown with a creamy off-white head. Straightforward balance of hops and malt. Dry finish. Decent overall. GAManiac (1123), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 20, 2009 12oz bottle courtesy of markwise poured into a pint glass.
Pours a deep, clear reddish amber with a huge fluffy white head that shows excellent retention and lacing. A really solid-looking amber.
The is fairly straight forward for the style with some lightly toasted sweet caramel malts and a hint of light fruits in the nose. There are some toasted grains as well.
The taste is more of the same with a hint of sweet fruits on top of the toasted malts. There is a toasted bread and grain character that shows up throughout the taste and the finish is fairly sweet with some grassy hops thrown in.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied for the style with plenty of carbonation.
This is a very drinkable if not complex amber. The flavors are fairly subdued and there is an ever-so-slight sour twinge that takes away from things a little bit. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Jul 20, 2009 12 oz. bottle from moose3285. Pours a clear deep amber color with a large creamy off white head. The aroma is a nice blend of mildly sweet bready malts and earthy hops. Smooth creamy mouthfeel that has a good balance of mildly sweet malt with a finish that is crisp and bitter. I was not expecting much and came away surprised. This is better than most ambers I have come across recently. thirdeye11 (405), Texas, USA Jul 12, 2009 (12oz bottle thanks to Swalden28) pours a beautiful red with good head and nice lacing. Nose of sweet caramel, but it is not in the taste. I love the hop profile on this one and it’s quite well balanced. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 2, 2009 (12oz bottle, courtesy of Swalden28) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head.
