Bottle: Cloudy golden pour with a few suspended particles and plenty of sediment in the last pour. Small, creamy white head. Complex nose is sour and fruity. Yeast. Tart and a bit funky. Tastes fruity again with yeast and light spices. Cloves and other Belgian spices. Tart and dry. Nice. Thanks Jeremy! *Just got this in a trade too and can’t wait to cellar it. Thanks Tyler!

750 bottle at Papago Scottsdale AZ. Nose is effervescent, funky, farmhouse tart. Mild yellow color. Taste is light and fresh, with moderate farmhouse, horseblanket, funkiness. Alcohol is not present and the taste fades badly on the end. This did not live up to expectations for me. There just was not enough to this beer and it was slightly boring by the end of the bottle. Maybe this was an old bottle or was just not handled properly. I will try again though.

750ml Bottle Pours out a cloudy copper topped with a tall white head. Aroma of spice and citrus all over this one. Tast was more spice, belg yeast, and bread. Even a nice fruit on it. Man this thing was loaded with flavor. Very nice.

750ml bottle. Hazy, dark yellow color with a big white head. Spicy, orange aroma. Despite the citrus flavor there isn’t alot of acidity, very drinkable. Pretty good stuff.

Deep orange pour with a thick bubbly white head. Spicy coriander aroma. Similar bitter spicy flavor. Very smooth velvety texture. Not bad, but I was a bit disappointed.

Orange-golden with a thick and creamy head. Sweet and very spicy aroma. The flavour is quite special: yeast, spice and sugar dominate it with notes of peper and pear.

Draft at Capone’s 12/13/08: Poured an orange color with a thick head. The aroma was flowers, grass, honey and orange. The flavor was tasty, with sweet and spicy orange peel, flowers, funk, and yeast. Overall, one of the best Saison’s I’ve ever had.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a very cloudy, glowing orange-amber color. A small, fading white head leaves a sudsy wash on the glass, most of which returns to the body. The aroma reminds me of a woman’s perfume, very floral and estery overall, with distinguishing notes of candied orange peel, lemon zest, clove, cracked pepper, and a heap of dry, bready, bretty yeast. Flavors are bright and zesty up front, citrus again featured prominently. Pale malts and candy sugar add ample sweetness, while spicy, peppery, floral hop notes and dry, farmhouse yeast add complimentary depth. Medium-full in body, with a fine, active carbonation, the palate finishes dry to the point of being parching, with lingering floral bitterness. Overall, this is a very fine saison, but it goes a bit over the top for me. Though I like this brew very much, I prefer the normal Saison Dupont for both everyday palatability and subtle complexity.
