Aroma has grain, very light horse blanket, light funk, slight citrus- orange peel. Flavor is a little dry, with very subtle sweetness upfront followed by a strong wave of bitter, herbal hops. Earthy tones discernible beneath. Round, champagne-like mouthfeel. Light bitterness lingers long into the finish. Very memorable. fiver29 (713), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2008 Draught. Pours a cloudy gold with a bit of an orange tint to it, with a nice dense white head on top. Aroma is initially a bit earthy, grassy, some barnyard funk in there, as well as a zesty fruit character. Taste is complex - light and fruity, with some soft citric sourness alongside a bit of barnyard funk, with just a bit of grassy bitterness towards the finish. Mouthfeel is light and effervescent. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2008 750. color is nearly opaque goldenrod orange. a very dense and rocky head forms on top of the hazy golden brew. initial aroma is very malty, almost no hop presence, and a slight sourness. it develops into an apricot fruitiness with spicy esters. banana and clove are also noted. texture is soft and velvety. i like the mouth feel a lot. kind of a sly one. the aroma leads you to believe that the beer will be intense, it is actually quite balanced. slight oak and honey are matched by a sweet/sour crisp finish. a hint of fresh sage is observed. tastes like it would be better with some age.
