Citrus flavor, nice yeast hints. Very nice ending. Very nice beer!! pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Sep 22, 2009 750ml green bottle, corked. Best before 09/2013. Golden, hazy. Good head formation and retention with lots of sticky lace. Herbal nose with some earth, hay, citrus. Citrusy start, sweet/fruity/oranges then spicy, earthy malt, some late alcohol. Finishes with a yeast and grass aftertaste, quite dry, some leafy bitterness. High carbonation, medium body. Very likeable. Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Sep 22, 2009 750 ml bottle. Golden with a slight haze. High carbonation level. Tall white coarse head. Powdery malt aroma. Wheaty flavours. Distinct Belgian yeast characters. Spicy hops. High hop bitterness. Strong flavours that linger. Peppery bitterness in the finish. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Sep 19, 2009 Pours hazy golden straw with a thick frothy/rocky white head. Vibrant aroma of citric fruits, big grassy hops, and a bit of yeast. Flavor is big grassy/herbal hops, with some underlying citrus, and some nice yeast. Palate is full and bitter. Well balanced, and delicious. CheersMate1 (770), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 12, 2009 I can’t believe they sell this at the local Whole Foods. Generally, Whole Foods on Ponce has a mediocre selection. 750 ml. bottle. Let’s pop this sucker. Plus, I plan on being fairly loaded after this. Ah nice fluffy head, with a beautiful haze yellow color that just sparkles in my eyes. Not an annoyingly huge head. The head sticks around but it is small enough to where you can actually enjoy the beer without have to tip the glass in the air. Heavy aromatic skunk aroma with a nice backing of fruity yeast. That subtle fruit flavor is awesome. I will say this the beer has an odd almost brett-yeast like taste. It develops oddly. You get an odd funky yeast flavor then some spices, and then finally some fruit. Slight hop bitterness there at the end. Very carbonated beer; too carbonated in my opinion. If it weren’t as carbonated this thing would sail in the ratings, for me at least. Even though I appreciate the range of flavors, I can’t live beyond the carbonation. Nice saison. Cole (266), , Alberta, Canada Sep 11, 2009 Pours hazy yellow tall white head looks amzing. Aroma is skunky hoppy and sweet with cotton candy notes. Very fizzy. Slightly citrus, orange and spices cloves are preasant. Very spicy finish Sweet slightly dry and sour. This is a great beer! solesaver (4), Oklahoma, USA does not count Sep 11, 2009 Wow, what a great Saison. The miriad of spices and fruits with a very pleasant efforvescence was quite enjoyable. Hard to drink others after this.
