| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 24, 2008 750mL bottle shared @ Monk’s with Pwn3d and Belushi. Poured a hazy golden body with spritzer-like carbonation - little white head. The aroma i spice, and maybe orange. The taste was spicy, with ginger and orange. The 9.5% alcohol is hidden very well. Great saison. Pwn3d (1054), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 24, 2008 750ml 2007 edition bottle at Monk Cafe. Very much reminded me of La Fin Du Monde. Taste is great.. clove, orange, some ginger, and spice. Alcohol was there if you looked for it, but for the most part extremely well hidden. Awesome huey orange color. Vivacious carbonation. Went extremely well with food. Would highly recomend. grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2008 Pours cloudy yellow with chunkies dispersed throughout. Head is white and fades fast. Aroma is standard for saison: spice, hops, and the barnyard funk. Not as highly carbonated as I thought it would be, but still is lively on the palate. Flavor is spice, yeast, hops. I was hoping for a drier and hoppier finish. This is good but I think I like the Vieille Provision better. It seems a bit strong for a Saison and seems to be better fit for the holidays and not a refreshing summer saison. All that said I still like this brew and would put it a close second behind the Vieille Provision. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2008 Clear yellow golden color with a white head that has good retention and lacing. Smells of bubblegum, chamomille, flowers, and hints of pepper and ginger. Light spice, chamomille, clove, and bubblegum in the taste. Medium bodied with high carbonation. Good stuff. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 21, 2008 Bottle. I’ve had this one many times as its sure to show up at tastings and probably one of my fist if not my first saison. {ours a cloudy orange with foamy white head. Loads of spices funk and hops seep out of this pour swirling around your mouth and leaving the etoh out of the picture. Great way to introduce yourself to the style.
