Pours nicely, orange gold, looks great. Grassy notes are totally present, definately smells like a saison. Barnyard funkyness, light citrus and juicy malts early to mid palate. This brew was nice and left me licking my lips quite often.

750 mL bottle purchased at Covell Nugget in Davis, CA. 2007 vintage. Aroma is dominant with a fair amount of cereal grains, mildly cheesy fun, and floral, spicy, piney hops emanating from the glass. Also has a touch of ethanol with some yeast esters. Mild to moderately hazy honey-colored body with a nice, frothy bubbly white head and nice lacing. An attractive brew. Quite a carbonated start, which becomes pretty bitter pretty quickly. A great deal of herbal, spicy hoppiness is present to start. In the middle, there is definitely some cereal graininess and minute amounts of floral sweetness. Finishes with a bit of ethanol flavoring and more dry-ish herbal bitter hop flavors. A good brew, but I am not a huge saison guy.

Draft at DRE. Hazy medium gold pour with fluffy off-white head. Aroma is funky, spicy yeast, dry flowery notes, hopcitrus. The mouthfeel is velvety, very smooth, very complex, with dry floral notes coupled with spicy and funky yeast notes, plus a solid hop bill, and some citric fruity flavor qualities. This one is a very nice saison.

Draught at Blue Nile, Minneapolis. Last pull from the keg before it blew. Belgian qualities in the aroma; fresh, gym locker room. A little allspice in the nose as well. Unique and yeasty. Murky, dark gold. Thick, large, slightly off-white head with artistic lace. Creamy, yeasty aroma. Very good brew.

Hazy golden pour, big fluffy white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy and a touch of citrus. Flavor has an earthy taste to it with light fruits, apples, pears, honey sweetness in the background. Dry mouthfeel but a slight citrus tartness and lots of lively carbonation. The yeasty is the dominating flavor with a good amount of hops in there as well with a touch of light fruits. Just an easy drinking beer.

Cloudy gold; nice lingering head. Aroma of lemon, yeast, bread, white pepper. Flavors are of a very rich saison and also include coriander, clove, citrus, sour apple, amber malt, honey, slight alcohol and burnt caramel. Rich and refreshing, I usually age this for a couple of years, but it’s good fresh also, bottle or draft.

Bottle from Marcus (thanks!) at wine frig temperature. Very yeasty aroma, accompanied by citrus and light brownish sugar. Hazy orangey gold color with a white head that persisted. Mild lacing. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is yeasty, lightly fruity (apricot, peach, that sort of fruit) with a nice level of bitter - which could be floral. There is some spicey tingle; peppery? The finish is dry, clean, a little bit puckery. Drinks very nicely. Could be a tad funky, as there’s a woody note. The flavors move around as drinking progresses and the glass warms. Great.
