Inviting bouquet of aromas -- yeast and spice. Mouthfeel was tingly, but the carbonation wasn’t as lively as most beers from this mold. Slight sweetness blended with a chewy yeastiness. Mild bitterness balanced things out well, and hung out behind some bold spices -- pepper, coriander, clove. Other notes of citrus (lemon and orange rind). Pleasant beer. ohemming (22), Columbus, Ohio, USA

My ratings are universal to my tastes meaning I dont judge to style. This beers flavor is complex between sweet, bitter, and sour and stants out to me as a unique and excelent blend of the three and majorly elevates the overall impression. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2007 750ml bottle, poured a murky straw color with a decent white head. The nose is that of fresh cut grass, citrus tones, yeast and a hint of hops. The flavor has more bite than the nose suggests, earthy with light citrus tones, yeast is present, as is slight alcohol warming. Great winter seasonal. mj (4992), Colorado, USA

Flavor is moderately sharp and lightly acidic, with frothy hay and mild alcohol noticed. Festive, full, yeast and tripel-like at times, but certainly funky and well-aged. Great stuff. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2007 2006 bottle at Kulminator. Very bright pale golden appearance. Aroma is quite herbal and grassy with a soft earthiness and a bit of hop character. Very aromatic. Fresh wheay spiciness up front. In many ways it reminds me of Moneuse, but the herbal character doesn’t dominate here, as it does there. Well-balanced and quite tasty. FatPhil (3466), Espoo, Finland

hazy rich yellow, thin to no head. light sweet malt and spicy aroma. quite lively in the mouth. a good sweet malty body, but a wickedly peppery hoppiness quickly comes over. A tad alcoholic.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Pours a cloudy orangey straw color with a large white head, but not as much foam as Vieille Provision. Aroma of honey, grass, flour, sweetened bread, oak, white wine, and light alcohol warming. Similar taste with stronger honey notes, some grass, pepper, and bread/grain. Finishes lightly bitter and quite spicy, earthy and a little buttery. Medium bodied but heavier than other saisons and substantially less carbonated (but still well carbonated). This was like a funky pungent tripel, and/or a more warming saison. Very nice stuff.
