Feb 27, 2007 Updated: Jul 14, 2008The aroma is very yeasty with a cheese and corn souffle element. The appearance is deep gold with a slight orange hue. The flavor is like the aroma with an astringent bitter finish. The palate is OK but a tad thin. This is interesting but not something I would want to drink regularly.

Feb 9, 2007 Bottle thanks to CMUBEERMAN. Pours hazy bubbly gold. Aroma is bleu cheese, tart, tangy, musty, biting. Flavor is smoky, bleu cheese, with a tartness that tapers.

Feb 8, 2007 From a 750 ml. caged corked green bottle, 2.005 on the cork, and what appears to be a best before date on the lower right corner on the front label, sampled at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
Poured a bright golden orange with a frothy, foamy white head, retention, some laced sticking.
Aromas of clove, spices, peppery and herbal, honey, tropical fruits and whiffs of solvent-like alcohol.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dry, carbonated smooth light bodied mouthfeel, very nice.
Pleasant spice and herbal taste, honey pale malts, tropical fruity that meshes with solvent alcohol, alcohol is warming in the back of the throat, clove, coriander and a peppery spice, earthy, herbal hops that have a soft bitterness, and a dry tart yeasty, malty finish with a little lingering herbalness.

Feb 1, 2007 Beautiful golden color and appearance in the glass. Spicy, peppery flavor, extremely easy to drink and I’m shocked that this is 9.5% ABV. Almost a perfect beer, extremely tasty and very well made. A classic.

Jan 31, 2007 Love it. Bright cloudy golden with decent head. Spicy yeast aroma. Really nice fruity yeast tastes. There is lots in this...not subtle at all. Really grabs you and the taste sticks around.

Jan 31, 2007 22 Jul 2006 - NIce hop and light fruit aroma. Cloudy medium amber colour, great head and good lacing. Big hop and medium citrus flavour. Big dry bitter and sour finish, just a bit too much for my taste.

Jan 29, 2007 On tap at the Hopleaf. The highlight of the night. A murky golden orange look. Its peppery, citric, and piney. Has a certain yeasty funk that is engaging. The alcohol is well hidden and the flavor is full and complex. Finishes long and dry, acidic and sour.
