Ungstrup (11408), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 11, 2004 A hazy orange beer with a disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of coriander. The flavor is sweet malty. This beer is boring compared to loads of others - I think I have to resample one day. omhper (10731), Stockholm, Sweden May 26, 2002 Updated: Nov 24, 2003Sampling of the 1998 version in 2002: Pale golden, very rich head, very lively. Blue cheese and citrus in the nose. Lively, light mouthfeel. Dry, funky and fruity. Dangerously drinkable with nice late bitterness. Papsoe (10580), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 19, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Hazy, golden with a dense, white head. Extreme aroma of yeast and diacetyl. Fairly full-bodied with sweetish malt, a distinct yeastiness, diacetyl and fruit. Way too much diacetyl. The finish is strongly alcoholic. This was just way too Belgian - in the not so hot sense. 030407 Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 1, 2004 Golden, sparkling colour. Yeasty, peppery aroma with pear esters. Some Bernie Worrell understated funk appears amidst typical Dupont yeast feast. Spicy, dry, slightly acidic. A fun take on saison, brining Dupont and Pipaix closer together. yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 5, 2007 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a slight off-white and lasting head. Spiced yeasty aroma, very classic belgian. The flavour is soft caramel blending into a more strong spice flavour. Some alcohol presence in the finish together with a bitterness. Keynote here is the balance, the beer as such holds nothing different from many other Belgians. The balance however is perfect, not to strong and not too weak eather but very smooth - nice.
