Bottle. Musty apple cider aroma. Hazy golden yellow color with an insanely giant head. Initially a slightly sweet apple cider followed by a musty, dry malt flavor. Dryness lingers nicely after swallowing. Premiere.

Huge offwhite coarse shiny lasting head. Hazy yellow body. Sharpish peppery fruity aroma with softly metallic powdery yeasty notes with some barnyard. Intense dry-sweet yeasty fruity chalky barnyard taste with metallic notes. Bitter grassy malty banana fruit aftertaste. Very nice, but a bit too bitter and harsh. (0.75l bottle from BeerMania, Brussels.)

What a great beer. I can’t believe I waited so long to try this, and thanks to Joebrew for sharing. Powerful earthy aromas from the bottle before the beer is even poured. Grassy, herbal aroma; dirt and sediment, and some barnyard, although not as much of this as I expected. Flavor has considerable sweet malt. There is also lots of salt and some yeasty weirdness. This isn’t exceptionally complex like some saisons, but very well balanced. Although it is unusually high in alcohol for the style, it is completely hidden in the aroma and flavor. This beer also has a great appearance. Opaque gold and a tall Duvel-like head. Some sediment as well.

(vintage 2000) Dark hazy golden, rich fluffy white head. Herbal, yeasty, peppery and rather vinous aroma. Nice. Flavour starts of sweet honey like malts. Finishes of herbs, hay, pepper, yeast, cheese, wood, all-spice and alcohol. Soft mouthfeel. Excellent saison!

2008 bottle. A great saison! Pours with a huge, white head and a hazy yellow body. Aroma is funky with some misc. spices, peppery and light fruit. Taste is nice and dry, fruity with a touch of clove, honey and funk. A classic saison squared! Very lively bubbles and dry mouthfeel. Very drinkable and the alcohol is well concealed.

Bottle. Hazy golden-amber beer with a huge whitish head. Citrus and spice in the aroma. Spicey, earthy, citrus (lemon) flavor with a bit too much residual sweetness. Some banana and alcohol that take away fromt he enjoyment. Normally a style I like, but this one just didn’t hold up.

Pours a hazy blonde color with yeast sediment and a thin white head. Excellent aroma and flavor of spices, citrus, resin and yeast. Light to medium body, creamy texture, medium carbonation. Hmmm, excellent !

Aroma is spicy. Cloudy golden colour; remaining head. Spicy, bit sour taste. bitter finish. [rerate] Aroma of citrus, yeast, hops with earthy tones. Cloudy, yellow coloured with a lasting white head. taste is bitter, a little tart and sweet, yeasty, citric some whine/grapes, eartyness. Quiet dry. Well balanced stuff. I like saison.
