Draught@Kulminator, Antwerp. An opaque golden beer with a dense and lasting two-finger white foam on top. Toffee-ish malt aroma. Notes of roasted almonds, yellow fruits and mild spices. Semi-dry wheaty malt flavor. Some light sweet lemon notes with a certain acidity. Earthy bitterness in the backbone. Medium body. Alcohol well masked. Light resiny and spiced ending. Nice stuff.

Man, how pleased was I when this cloudy yellow gold beer, with its creamy dense white head released its aroma of farmy brett and spicy orange peel? The answer is very! And the flavor? Creamy buttery malts, funky hay and leather, grassy and spicy hops, leading to a dry finish with a pointed hoppy bitterness. Freakin outstanding saison!

Pours amber / orange with a small off-white head. The aroma has smooth nectar fruits (mainly nectarines) and light spice. The aroma is subdued compared to many saisons, but what is there is great. Medium body that starts off smooth and finish grainy and crisp with minor carbonation. The flavor starts off with citric and nectar fruits that have a richness, but are somehow dry as well. There is also a grainy spice and it has some abv showing through. The finish is quite peppery. This is an interesting and enjoyable saison. It does not seem as complex as most and the palate is smoother than expected for a saison.

Hazy gold in colour with a large white head. Aroma was yeasty, with small amounts of alcohol, lots of orange and lemon zest, some spice. Flavour had yeast and mustiness upfront, citrus, spices in the middle and small amount of alcohol in the end. Finishes somewhat sharp with a lingering medium bitterness. If I didn’t know that this was going to be a saison I would have sworn that it was a triple. A very enjoyable beer.

Thanks to Matta for this one! 2002 750ml. Pours with a fluffy, long lasting head of white over a medium yellow body. Lace galore! Sweet tart aroma. Earthy, apples beginning to decay. Sweet flavor well balanced by fruity tartness, yet not overly so. An interesting and easy drinker.

Bottle: Poured a blonde amber with a white head. Smell was a yeast fruit aroma. Very citrus and yeast flavor, left an acidy finish.

750ml bottle, 2005 vintage, per the cork. Aroma of caramel apple, honey, yeast spice and malt toast. Cloudy golden-orange color, head is fine and lasting. Fruity apple, honey and toast in the flavor, with touches of herbal hops, candy, brown sugar, white grape, lemon and grainy bread. Smoothly effervescent on the palate, body is nicely full. This has aged very nicely. Quality Saison.
