It was a pleasure to try this beer on draught tonight at Toronado in San Francisco, California. Pale yellow in color with a large head of foam. The aroma is distinctly Dupont, subtle, fruity with hints of hay, glue and pear, lots of pear. The aroma isn’t very captivating quite honestly, but the taste, that is another story. Dry, with big, almost sour yeasty/farmhouse notes with big fruit flavors (pear, apple), caramel and this is awfully hoppy by the way. A very good beer. But this is far from being as magical as the 8% Blaugies beers and some of the Fantome beers.

Hazy gold with a frothy white head. Superb lacing. It’s a beauty. Sour with some funk, bitter hops as well as floral. Pears and apricots. Spicy touches of coriander. Flavor contains a big wallop of coriander and hops. Bitter, floral and citrus. It’s also quite barnyardy. Palate is a bitter bite of sour apples with a spicy finish. Great.

Bright light fruit estery aroma, full of mellowed lemon rind, faint phenolic notes and a mouthful of spicy blend. Pour of clouded deep golden, finged paler. Pour of fluffy ivory cream. Full of rich sweet creamy candied orange rind and gentle spices, with some coriander and white pepper. Incredible mouthfeel, with salty savory sugar and spice, with faint warming breezes, not hot just fulfilling. Excellent balance of dry spice pitted against a dusky yeast bread, creating harmony over the long sweet residuals. Floral and grainy. Outstanding stylistically.

Another awesome saison. These are rapidly becoming one of my favorite styles. Aroma of must, wet blanket and funk. Pour was a nice cloudy medium gold with a hint of a white head. Taste was very complex. Strong funk and dust with a nice bitterness in the front and a dry banana/citrus aftertaste. I would have guessed this beer was 6% had I not known. Awesome!

Orange/yellow color with a decent white head. Big citrus fruit, earthy aroma with dry malts. Medium body. Nice merry go round of flavors range from lightly sweet to bone dry and tart with dusty malts, herbs, an earthy mustiness, grassy hops and lemon; a pretty complex brew here. The finish here is dust bowl dry. Very good. 2177

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is a wonderful yeast and musty with lots of citrus and and pepper. Flavor is equally stellar. Lots of lemon and yeast with some spices. Alcohol is no problem and i would not even think that this would be a 9.5 abv. A very tasty saison and very easy to drink.

Spectacularly complex saison. Wild yeast strains, weird wonderful Belgian spicing...difficult to deconstruct...coriander, orange peels, flowers, herbs, cut grass, pepper, lemon zest... Thoroughly refreshing, with exotic flavors and spritzy texture dancing on the tongue. Pairs well with food...I had it with a gourmet vegetarian pizza. Does not get much better than this!

750 ml bottle, from BevMo LaJolla. Pours hazy peach amber color with a little sediment and a huge white head that leaves thick lace. Fruity and yeasty, tangerine, apricot, coriander, clove in the aroma, with bread dough and whiffs of white pepper. Flavor of sweetbread, candied fruit, pinapple, clove, nutmeg, bitter herbs, a bit of alcohol, umami notes as well. Full body, smooth and velvety, lightly tingly carbonation - perfect mouthfeel!
