2004 Bottle: Beer pour expected slightly cloudy medium golden with a beautifully retained egg white head. Then a whiff of aroma and BAM what kind of Saison is this? Significant hoppy aroma with fruit and yeast. Flavor is initially light fruit, also yeast and the afore mentioned hops. Very light and dancing in the mouth. All in all a delightful beverage.

Draft at d.b.a. Golden pour with medium sized white head. Aroma of some earth and spices. Flavor is sort of a conglomeration of earthy malt, spices, a little sour lemon, and blond belgian malt sweetness. Pretty good blend of flavors, but I would prefer to have any one of the flavors stand out a little more.

From bottle, poured at the 2006 Pizza Port 12 Hour Belgian Beer Party. Pale, slightly cloudy yellow colored pour with a really tall, frothy white head. Slightly yeasty aroma is saturated with granny smith apple skins and rose petals; a delicate perfume that proves less can be more. Slightly bitter, herbal flavors of celery root, parsley stalk, and an abundance of springtime clover. Some soft orange blossoms and a bit of shaved nutmeg and peppery spice. Finish is clean, quick, and crisp, with an abundance of lemongrass and a hint of lime peel.

Green bottle, 75 cl, best before 08 2013, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savoured on April 19 2009; eye: golden, lightly hazy, good effervescence, voluminous white head that falls and turns into a sheet at the centre of which is an island of melting ice cream, light lacing; nose: yeast, spices (coriander), hops, candied sugar, floral, light fruity; mouth: yeast, spices (coriander), hops becomes more present as the beer warms up, candied sugar, floral, light fruity, alcohol, citrusy, medicinal finale with presence of hops, medium body, rather carbonated, slightly sweet, slick; overall: fine FRANÇAIS Bouteille verte, 75 cl, meilleure avant 08 2013, via Importations Privées Bièropholie, savourée le 19 avril 2009; œil : dorée, légèrement voilée, bonne effervescence, mousse blanche abondante qui tombe et se transforme en une couverture au centre duquel se trouve un îlot de crème glacée fondant, légère dentelle; nez : levure, épices (coriandre), houblon, sucre candi, floral, léger fruité; bouche : levure, épices (coriandre), houblon devient plus présent à mesure que la bière gagne en température, sucre candi, florale, léger fruité, alcool, citrique, finale médicinale avec présence de houblon, corps moyen, plutôt carbonatée, très légèrement sucrée, coulante; en résumé :bien

Finally grabbed this one and enjoyed it immensely. Well made, well balanced, very complex beer. Nice citrus aromas. The taste is dominated by yeast and spice. Cloudy golden color with a big white head. More subtle than what I remember of other saisons I have had. That subtleness and complexity adds to the experience of this one. This is why people love this style.

Big grassy hoppy aroma, with a gigantic billowing head. Crystal clear golden. Lean, fairly light bodied. Big clean hoppiness. Perfect balance of body and zippy carbonation, with that goregous signature dupont yeast character. This is a sexy beer. Put the pen down and enjoy it! 750 mL, snifter. Murky amber-orange hue with a tall, rocky, meringue white head. Musky and slightly funky aroma embraces, backlit by a soft floral warmth. Sweet notes of sugared apples. A crisp tone not much unlike freshly pressed linen. Fresh bananas liven the occasion. A dry spice, nutmeg perhaps--and finished by the earthy aroma of a wet, deciduous forest. Flavor is a sublime translation from the aroma; sweet flavors coming up front and a drying, bitter, spicy and funky finish. Medium-full body with a soft texture and lively carbonation.

Thanks to R.J. for this rec. Very nice light Belgian style. As others note, golden, fruity. Just a wonderful beer. Supposedly, not many made their way into our store here, but I need to grab another bottle soon before others do.
