| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 23, 2004 Big grassy hoppy aroma, with a gigantic billowing head. Crystal clear golden. Lean, fairly light bodied. Big clean hoppiness. Perfect balance of body and zippy carbonation, with that goregous signature dupont yeast character. This is a sexy beer. Put the pen down and enjoy it! Thanks to Matt_Dinges for a great beer shared with great company. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2007 750ml - 2005 - Aroma of funky yeast, holiday spices, grass and sweet bread. Pours cloudy yellow with a steady stream of bubbles cascading up from the center of my Duval tulip. A huge head leaves great lacing. Flavor is sweet and funky with Dupont yeast and holiday spices, pepper and alcohol. Palate is tart and sticky. A potent saision to be sure with the alcohol biting a bit. I would like to revisit with a fresh one since there wasn’t much hops here in this aged bottle. JCW (1262), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2007 Gorgeous pour ... apricot gold with a huge firm big-bubble pure white head. Nose of yeast, orange, coriander. Taste of yeast, orange, coriander, pepper bite ... and then ... out of nowhere ... nasty of nasties ... serious funk. What is this doing in a Saison? Have we gone lambic all of a sudden? I’ll need to think about this some more. And as it breathes the skuny funkiness goes away. I sort of like this. Brigadier (1246), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

I lost track of who brought this or opened it, but thanks to whoever did. There is a reason this is one of the highest rated saisons on the site - because it deserves the honors.
Aroma / Appearance - A huge, dense yellow bubbly head subsided slowly, trickling down the sides of my glass leaving behind traces of lacing that lingered. The bouquet was rich with fruity notes - apples, pears and an overall sweetness. In addition, I was reminded of honey smoked ham as it hung in the rafters aging.
Flavor / Palate - The first impression was dry and peppery but soon gave way to a pleasant combination of sweet fruity flavors. The mouthfeel was just about right for a saison. It did not completely fill my mouth with intense flavors, but at the same time I did not have to guess at what pleasures were in my mouth. The spicy characteristic stuck around throughout the entire glass. It was never overpowering or intense but gave a nice balance to the beer. I enjoyed this; if I see if on the shelf around Madison it might be getting a second look in the future. Ober (1232), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands

The aroma of fruits and grassy, sweet malts with some spices. The taste of citrus/orange with some malt and yeast. There are notes of coriander. Good balance. Nose is dough, yeast, slight woody sour notes, and some bitter citrus and white pepper. A little musty/dusty in a good way. Crisp, spicy finish.
