| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Poured a volcanically effervescent golden with a large frothy white head. Aroma of sweet flowers, grapes, some dry alcohol. Flavor is quite strong... lots of floral sweetness coming through, alcohol, a touch of sweet cream, some herbal hoppiness. Body was not as fizzy as I thought it might be given the effervescence, but I would attribute that to the beer’s strength. It drinks and tastes like a big beer. But good, complex, and would go well with a nice cheese. carruthm (1158), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 13, 2008 Pour was orange straw with nice head and lacing. The aroma was weak funk. Man, this is one rich and creamy beer…excellent mouthfeel. The flavor was tart fruit, a very mild level of spice and a mild barnyard funk. This is a different kind of saison, but I really enjoyed it! I’ve had this beauty sitting for about 9 months, I couldn’t resist any longer!
King Midas touched this beer as it poured a pale golden / orange body, with the chunkiest and most nugget like ivory head ever created. The nose is soft as cotton, light and perfumey… suggestions of clove, sage, hints of coriander, and a lovely yeasty / biscuity euphoria.
The flavor is full of character. Notes of orange and lemon take front stage... spices like: cardamom, clove, coriander, and black peppercorns take left; and a barnyard mustiness of grains work the right. An airy and creamy palate accompany the tart and spicy citric finish……… And with that…….. An artisan has crafted a work of genius and contained it as liquid gold!
