On tap @ hopleaf. Cloudly yellow with a white head. Citrusy, yeasty, spicy aroma. Taste is lemon citrus, vanilla, yeasty, with some spice and some bitterness towards the finish. The difference is negligible between this and the Dupont Saison. This one is twice as alcoholic? 3.9 overall

750ml bottle, served at basement temperature of 55°. Just wonderful. 4.1 overall.

Hazy golden in color with a thick creamy head that remains and nice lacing. The Aroma is bready, bret yeast, pear and hay. Flavor is spicy aged lemon, wheat and sweet malty spices. Medium to full body, crisp and clean. Highly carbonated, long dry finish.

Bottle, Chris_o shindig. Cloudy yellow straw, thin white head. Quite acetic, sweet with alcohol present. Sherberty yeasty. Banana and something else that I couldn’t put my finger on. Quite complex. Some yeast, and some fruityness. Quite lively with some dusty sweet finish.

Sample pour from Bomber in to a snifter glass. So excited to try this finally! Appears light orange with a huge, frothy-clean head. Aroma is surprisingly mild; taken side-by-side it is far more mellow than Saison Dupont. Perhaps some candi sugar, funkiness, and light herbs are all I could get from the aroma. Flavor reminds me of a fine, dry champagne: mild fruitiness, hay, clove and grains of paradise-like spice, grass, and soft malt. Really a delicate beer, and excellent sipper. Finish is quite dry, the alcohol showing through dryness rather than flavor. I do, however, prefer Saison Dupont.

750 ml green corked & caged bottle. 2007 on cork. Hard to get the cork out. Poured out a dirty yellow color, with plenty of haze. Aromas are of pepper, corriander, funky Saison yeast. Flavors are harsh, not well blended. Mostly pepper, yeast, some solvents. This beer could use some serious aging. I might put one down for 5 years & see what happens.

750mL bottle shared @ Monk’s with Pwn3d and Belushi. Poured a hazy golden body with spritzer-like carbonation - little white head. The aroma i spice, and maybe orange. The taste was spicy, with ginger and orange. The 9.5% alcohol is hidden very well. Great saison.

750 ml bottle on sale at BevMo: Cloudy pale apricot color with a generous fluffy white head. Aroma is lightly fruity, spicy, and floral. Flavor starts fruity with over-ripe orange, a hint of lemon, a little green apple and tropical fruit followed by some yeasty spicyness and a dry bitter finish. Medium body is creamy with lively carbonation.

Hazy golden pour, big fluffy white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy and a touch of citrus. Flavor has an earthy taste to it with light fruits, apples, pears, honey sweetness in the background. Dry mouthfeel but a slight citrus tartness and lots of lively carbonation. The yeasty is the dominating flavor with a good amount of hops in there as well with a touch of light fruits. Just an easy drinking beer.
