Clear golden body with a big foamy head. Lemony, grass and yeasty aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Taste has some slight citric notes and an underlying funkiness. Finishes dry and yeasty. Very nice.

Fad.

Avec les Bons Voeux pours to a beautiful, hazy, deep golden color with a thick, creamy, pillowy, white head, and a vibrant carbonation. The nose on this beer is very complex, with big aromas of pale malt, spicy/herbal hops, and peppery alcohol. The palate is richer and fuller on the tongue that Dupont, and has a very silky and smooth pale malty palate. This rich malt is paired with some nice estery fruit flavors, and some lift of carbonation that allows it to dance on the tongue. Avec les Bon Voeux finishes with more pale malt and fruit up front, then ends with a dry/spicy/peppery warming finish, that lingers on the tongue. This is a very delicious, very satisfying beer, that could be matched with a hearty winter dish, such as beef stew, roasted turkey, or leg of lamb. It also makes a perfect beer to relax with, as a digestif, after a big meal. This really is a big(9.5% abv), brawny version of Saison Dupont, and is one that will have you wanting much more than the 750ml bottle it comes in.

750ml green bottle, corked. Best before 09/2013. Golden, hazy. Good head formation and retention with lots of sticky lace. Herbal nose with some earth, hay, citrus. Citrusy start, sweet/fruity/oranges then spicy, earthy malt, some late alcohol. Finishes with a yeast and grass aftertaste, quite dry, some leafy bitterness. High carbonation, medium body. Very likeable.

2006. 750mL, with Thanksgiving dinner. Poured cloudy golden with moderate sized off-white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, spice, coriander, perfume and herbs. Yeast and wheat predominate in the flavor, along with some fruit, earth. and citrus. Dry, spicy finish. This was an ideal accompaniment to Thanksgiving dinner.

Clear warm golden yellow with a rocky white head, softening with time, thinning gradually. Sweet malt backbone with some spice, cinnamon, lemony pepper (hops?), a bit soapy. I can slightly smell the christmas. Low carbonation, a bit viscous and creamy. Sweet, with bittery lemony peppery hops. A bit soapy, a bit creamy, a sharp little bit of alcoholic acidity. Herbal, alcoholic finish, lingering bitterness. A bit too sweet, a bit too spicy.

Nearly savory aromas with lemon pepper and strong yeast. Very light orange, and cloudy, with a lasting pillowy white head. Sharp acidity on the palate, lots of natural flavors, barley and bright wheat. Some peppery alcohol on the finish, which lasts well. A medium weight beer that tastes, well, authentic.
