I couldn’t pick out a ton of aroma out of it. Flavour is very subtle does not give any hint of the alcohol content it holds. Good beer but too unassertive for me. 6/3/6/3/15<P> August 2001 Belgian, I am assuming its a tripel (i was wrong). Strong, rather alcoholic taste. Somewhat interesting aroma. Decent but not especially great. 6/3/5/3/10 beerguy101 (3907), Newark, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2008 This saison pours a cloudy deep peach orange color form a cork-finished 750ml bottle. Large sized, long lasting white foamy head, with good retention and excellent lacing. Aroma is fruity, spicy and floral. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity; lots of orange, green apple and lemon fruitiness give way to spiciness and grassiness. A little yeasty as well. A little hoppy for a saison, but it works, that hop bite balances and mixes well with the fruit, spice and yeasty. Lively carbonation. Hides the 9% alcohol well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and nearly bone dry. Aftertaste is slightly tart. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2006 This corked and caged bottled brew bottled in 2005 came from a bottle shop and poured a extremely large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that was mostly lasting and left behind a hazy softly carbonated dark . The aroma was fruity farmhouse malty and doughy. The crisp mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The crisp saison flavor contained notes of mild hops fruits and was mildly vinous. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. Grovlam (3809), Copenhagen, Denmark

Quite strong, dryish, earthy, yeasty and hoppy aroma with a hint of cardamom and thyme. Dry, hoppy, yeasty and fruity flavor with peppery spiciness and a hint of alcohol in the finish. Somewhat acidic, but gets softer and sweeter with the yeast poured in. Medium-bodied, dryish, bitter-hoppy, biting palate. A very nice, saison-like, crisp and strong ale. Maybe the strongest-hopped Dupont. Dedollewaitor (3730), Odense, Denmark

A bit more complex and abstract than La chouffe. The style of category is Saison. A wallone family brewing tradition. This was originally a new year gift to the brewers themselves but is now avaliable all year!
