Nice high foam, lace. Smells of coriander, orange peel, bubble gum, vanilla. The taste is very tart, nice bitterness but quite acidic. Some citrus peel flavors going on as well. Nice but the bitterness lasts for quite some time. Dry mouthfeel. This would be nice with a sweet dessert. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Opaque tan-yellow with generous and lasting white head that recedes slowly with some lacing. Plenty of yeast in suspension. Generally spicy flavour has all the notes of the aroma with a strong herbal/spicy character. Medium-light body with refreshing strong effervescence. Bottle sampled at the Voyager par des Papilles group tasting Feb-05. ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 18, 2005 This blonde ale poured with a generous white head, eliciting a musty yeast aroma. The flavor is spicy and fruity, with a carbonated mouthfeel and a smooth slightly bitter finish. Similar to, but much more complex and balanced than the Dupont Saison. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 24, 2007 Updated: Dec 28, 2007Pours light golden with a mostly maintained foamy off-white head and an effervescent body. Aroma is wonderfully yeasty: notes of honey, bubble gum, barnyard, herbs, and pineapple esters. Taste is well balanced with both explosive esters and lightly bitter herbs. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lush carbnonation. This is most delicious!
I had the chance to sample this on tap at Rich O’s. On tap it is not as estery, and rates closer to a 4. Still an excellent beer, but no bouquet of esters that makes this so delicious. schuimkroaat (395), Leuven, Belgium

Stevige body, zeer verwarmend mondgevoel. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 26, 2006 Thanks to JPDISPO for opening up this one (and thanks to Clark for the bottle that I’m now able to cellar!) Hazy body with some sediment, and a muted golden-yellow color underneath a head mirrored after pillowy laundry suds and snowstorm lacing. Sugary lemon rinds turning south tempt the senses, followed by coriander and sweet orange peel. Lemon grass and lime juice brush on willow wheat come out in the next waft. Bitter orange peel graces through soon thereafter, moments before the yeast strain lets you know it’s the reason why we’re all here. Take a sip and we’re quite certain that this is one seriously flavored saison. Buttery sweet dough and vanilla buttercream seep in over sucked on lemonheads. Coriander gives a subtle scratch, but the confectionary bakers delight pursues and even sweeter path. Big puffy effervescence and in the dry recession, the spices coriander and chamomile rise up splendidly. Bakery lemon meringue cuts close to spruce. Light hotness if you open the mouth up to the atmosphere post-gestation. Lemon peel and dry beet sugar give a hot, warming finish. This is a beautiful thing. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA

The taste of this was like citrus, wheat and malt combined. The aroma was similar to Aventinus which of course pleases me. The alcohol was barely noticable. Really a wonderful beer. I recommend it.
