Complex and spicy aroma, medium body, good malt balanced by hoppy and spicy dryness, long dry finish. Strong, rich but veriy drinkable, quite an exceptional beer.

This ale is everything a Saison ought to be, spicy, subtly fruity and spicy. Very well balanced between the different flavors in this one, with the raisin/caramel flavor being most predominant. Definitely one to try if you love Saisons.

Cloudy gold; nice lingering head. Aroma of lemon, yeast, bread, white pepper. Flavors are of a very rich saison and also include coriander, clove, citrus, sour apple, amber malt, honey, slight alcohol and burnt caramel. Rich and refreshing, I usually age this for a couple of years, but it’s good fresh also, bottle or draft.

Thanks to JPDIPSO for opening and sharing this one. Fresh aroma, fruity grapes, caremel, yeasty with a hint of a lightly toasted bread with dried fruit. Very cloudy yellow with a tall white head. Complex citrusy and peppery with a sweet fruitiness mid-palate that changes into a complex caramel and dried fruit finish. Dry texture and a great mouthfeel. Very drinkable and complex.

Hazy gold. Billowing, creamy, off white head. Aroma of big slightly sour yeast, crisp citrus/pine hops, and grains. Flavor is must, yeast, crisp hops, grains, slightly sour, moderately bitter, underlying alcohol throughout. Dry, bitter finish. Intense brew for a saison. Balanced, medium body. Excellent. Best saison I’ve had.

750ml caged and corked bottle. Cork has 2005 for date. Pours a hazy golden yellow. Voluminous white head, dense and rocky. Lacing on the glass that resembles...well, it looks exactly like Belgian lace. Smells of lemon and sweet spice. Orange zest. Taste is rich caramel and molasses. Hints of vanilla. Oaky with sherry notes. Lots o’ alcohol as it finishes. Very dry finish, dires out quick from all the richly sweet flavors up front. In the finish, one taste comes out again and again: Juniper berries. Not sure if they’re used but I couldn’t get them out of my head. Mouth is dry and full bodied. This beer’s a treat. I want more and I want more to age for a couple years.

much thanks to egajdzis for this... Apears a hazy gold with plenty of yeast in suspension and a 1 finger head that sticks around. Lots of sticky lacing all over the glass. Smell is yeasty, clove, vanilla, pepper, barnyard funk, honey, and a mild whiff of dried out bazooka joe. Taste is of the same aromas not dissapointing. Mouthfeel is smooth, with honey, and yeastyness swirling around.

From a 750ml bottle--Effervescent thick foamy white head atop a hazy orange-copper body. Nose of complex sweet fruits such as bananas, oranges, and grapes. Yeasty and spicy through and through. A divine Belgian saison. Slightly mealy and gritty. Bready complexity in finish with a biting spice presence. At 9.5% ABV, the alcohol is well-hidden. Amazingly good brew!
