’Wit’-ish in color; thin but lively head with great lace; Aroma is firm, but I can’t put my finger on it. Dry right away. Very full mouthfell with a beautiful sharpness across the tongue. Alcohol is well represented. Has a lot of the yeasty characteristics of a witbeer. Small amount of spiciness reminds you that it is a saison. Another winner from Dupont.

Duponts christmas saison brew. outstanding stuff. golden straw colour, slightly hazy which took on a green hue due to the christmas lights at my pub. clean foamy head. many different tastes - a complex beer. my notes include oranges, yeast, bananas, cloves, wheat grass. unlike other beers , it maintains its tastes and does not mellow after a few sips. not a cheap or easy beer to finf but worth it . the magnum bottle may look like a lot to drink but this was a pleasure all the way.

Sampling of the 1998 version in 2002: Pale golden, very rich head, very lively. Blue cheese and citrus in the nose. Lively, light mouthfeel. Dry, funky and fruity. Dangerously drinkable with nice late bitterness.

This strong saison style ale pours a cloudy golden color with a medium sized white head that recedes into a lingering film on top of the beer. The aroma is fruity and slightly tart with a mild yeastiness. It has a medium body with a moderate to high amount of carbonation. The flavor is slightly citrusy and mildly hoppy with a nice hoppy finish with hints of fruit and yeast. Very crisp and refreshing, the alcohol is well hidden. Very nice, it's like the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of their Saison Dupont Vieille Provision.

Vintage 2001: firm frothy head. Hoppy, citric aroma and flavor. Pinetree. You really can't notice the alcohol. Long hopbitter citric finish. Medium bodied and a good lacing. A delicious high quality beer.

Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a huge rocky thick longlasting head. Aroma of yeast, dough, clove, and citrus. Flavor is citrus and yeasty with a sweet, spicy, alcoholic finish. Alcohol is balanced with the other flavors however.

Hazy gold in colour with a large white head. Aroma was yeasty, with small amounts of alcohol, lots of orange and lemon zest, some spice. Flavour had yeast and mustiness upfront, citrus, spices in the middle and small amount of alcohol in the end. Finishes somewhat sharp with a lingering medium bitterness. If I didn’t know that this was going to be a saison I would have sworn that it was a triple. A very enjoyable beer.

Dirty, hazy golden color with a thick white head that eventually diminishes. The aroma was filled with hay/grass at first and later became a zesty fruitiness with some mild yeast and hops tones. The flavor was a mixture of barnyard, citrus fruits, and hops. Lively, bubbly feel with a dry finish.
