Feb 22, 2002 ’Wit’-ish in color; thin but lively head with great lace; Aroma is firm, but I can’t put my finger on it. Dry right away. Very full mouthfell with a beautiful sharpness across the tongue. Alcohol is well represented. Has a lot of the yeasty characteristics of a witbeer. Small amount of spiciness reminds you that it is a saison. Another winner from Dupont.

Dec 6, 2001 Duponts christmas saison brew.
outstanding stuff. golden straw colour, slightly hazy which took on a green hue due to the christmas lights at my pub. clean foamy head.
many different tastes - a complex beer. my notes include oranges, yeast, bananas, cloves, wheat grass.
unlike other beers , it maintains its tastes and does not mellow after a few sips.
not a cheap or easy beer to finf but worth it . the magnum bottle may look like a lot to drink but this was a pleasure all the way.

May 26, 2002 Updated: Nov 24, 2003Sampling of the 1998 version in 2002: Pale golden, very rich head, very lively. Blue cheese and citrus in the nose. Lively, light mouthfeel. Dry, funky and fruity. Dangerously drinkable with nice late bitterness.

Feb 20, 2009 Draft tulip at FRTH, Denver. Poured with a nice golden appeal and a nice esthery nose. It drinks with a bubble-gummy spiciness, and ends with a stark dry finish. (#3512, 2/19/2009)

Jun 24, 2006 Oh baby! Poperinge brought this out when the Stanley Cup came on the ice (2006). The whole room smelled like a wet barn when he popped the cork. Heavy carbonation. Tiny particulate. Closer up the aroma is salty with some cheese notes. Surprising up front sweetness in the flavour. Salty. Dry and dusty in the nose. Tasty but hard to describe. Reminds me of the joy of that first IPA in tasting something new and phenomenal.

Jan 26, 2007 All kinds of aromas going on with this one, from tropical citrus to pine, hint of alcohol then a slight apple scent...pours a golden haze with large bubbly head and creamy froth in the middle; dissapates not too quickly, nice lacing. Smooth refreshing taste with an ever so slight apple alcohol yeast aftertaste in the sides of your mouth. DELIGHTFUL.

Jul 11, 2008 750 ml bottle. God, I love this beer. I love the fact that it’s considered a saison, albeit a winter saison. Full bodied without being heavy or cloying, delicious in flavor and appearance. Straw color with a thick white foamy head. Alcohol content is well concealed. I would love to make this a daily drinker.

May 20, 2007 Tasted at Holiday Wine Cellar. Hazy amber with fluffy white head. Aroma strong barn yard funk and sweet malt. Tangy, bright palate. Taste if pear, orange, cloves, and spices. Very Good.
