AskForJenny (466), Ontario, New York, USA Jan 31, 2008 750ml - Cloudy gold, fizzy head, hoppy bitterness and acidic seltzer mouthfeel. Perfect balance - superior.
krysztofar (293), belleville, Illinois, USA Nov 30, 2008 750. color is nearly opaque goldenrod orange. a very dense and rocky head forms on top of the hazy golden brew. initial aroma is very malty, almost no hop presence, and a slight sourness. it develops into an apricot fruitiness with spicy esters. banana and clove are also noted. texture is soft and velvety. i like the mouth feel a lot. kind of a sly one. the aroma leads you to believe that the beer will be intense, it is actually quite balanced. slight oak and honey are matched by a sweet/sour crisp finish. a hint of fresh sage is observed. tastes like it would be better with some age. Straling (92), Amstenrade, Netherlands Nov 29, 2008 On Tap.
Pours a murky golden/yellow colour with a good size head and very nice carbonation.
Smell is very fruity and clear, well balanced and pleasant smell of sour fruits and sweet fruits.
Taste is rather bitter and sour, but also fruity and well mixed in. There are lemons there mixed with sweet fruits such as oranges, which ofcourse can also be sour, giving it a great light bitter flavour. illkarate (66), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Nov 27, 2008 Wow - 750ml, pours with a massive white head... lovely orangish-yellow color. Really complex, hints of dandelion, pepper, cantelope (maybe other sweet melons), and bark. Really well balanced - finishes with a slightly astringent alcohol bite. Excellent beer for Thanksgiving. Well done. BMan1113VR (1161), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Nov 27, 2008 2008 bottle. A great saison! Pours with a huge, white head and a hazy yellow body. Aroma is funky with some misc. spices, peppery and light fruit. Taste is nice and dry, fruity with a touch of clove, honey and funk. A classic saison squared! Very lively bubbles and dry mouthfeel. Very drinkable and the alcohol is well concealed. m4rest88 (107), Beverly Hills, California, USA Nov 26, 2008 Pours with a dark, murky yellow hue with a nice frothy white head that diminishes pretty quickly.
Aroma is of yeast, citrus, hops and lots of barnyard funk.
Flavor has a sweetish beginning, with an alcoholic, semi-bitter finish.
Lively carbonation with a very dry mouthfeel.
