On tap at Volo. Smelled of roasted malt and over-roasted coffee beans. Too bitter to enjoy the undertones to chocolate, coffee. The finish is laced by burnt caramel. Somewhat complex, but l’ll pass on it next time.

On nitro tap at Smokeless Joe’s. Pours a clear black to brown with crimson highlights and a thin mocha head. Light chocolate and coffee, roast. Nice big roast notes, light cocoa. Finishes with some dry roast and lingering bitterness.

Dark pour with a nice tan head. Aroma is quite faint, a little bit of coffee, taste is of dark malt with not that much complexity but the palate is great and it goes down really smooth. Definitely not the best but a good drink none the less.

Pint at the Victory Café. Foamy white pour (!) exudes cocoa, coffee, hops... ends a bit of roast. Smooth and almost oily. Some mineral and fruit - very honest effort!! *** some dark berry fruit also.

A clear dark brown porter with a thick silky moka head. A pleasant moka coffee aroma, a bit chalky. In mouth, a light silky chocolate with roasted coffee, powdery, light but good. On tap at Victory Café, March 22, 2009.

On tap at Smokeless Joe’s- Tapped a deep cola pour, accompanied by a frothy mocha cap. Some lace sticks to the glass. Nose of dark fruit, cola, some dark chocolate, subtle black coffee. Tastes of dark chocolate, black coffee, a bit fruity too. Light bitterness balances out the mild fruity sweetness. Pretty good stuff.
