Beer Snob (378), Ontario, Canada Nov 3, 2006 On tap at C’est What.
Jeez, I like everything I’ve tasted from this brewery. Have been craving a good IPA, and this quenched it nicely.
Nice pile of hops cut with a touch of malt. A hint of citrus and a wonderful bitter tang left behind in the mouth.
BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA Nov 3, 2006 sampled @ bierBistro in Toronto. Nice hoppy aroma in a caramel colour. Well balanced, and a little punchy, with pine hops and citrus squeezes. Yum! This place, btw, kick ass. beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 22, 2006 Updated: Jan 5, 2007 A good IPA. Nicely balanced. The needle bar handle is really cool as well. kwoeltje (1313), Manchester, Missouri, USA Oct 15, 2006 (draught at Smokeless Joe) Hazy medium gold / light amber. Pine/citrus hops aroma. Lovely hops flavor with enough malt to balance; well on the way to imperial IPA territory. StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2006 Updated: Feb 8, 2007Draught at C’est What. The tap handle for this was a syringe full of hops, so along with the name, I knew to expect big hops and that’s what I got. Really nice aromatic, light piney/citrusy hops, with a big presence. A decent amount of malt balances it out. Reminds me of a bolder, hoppier Tankhouse Ale. Mild-moderate bitterness in the finish, quite sessionable. This a really nice and supremely drinkable IPA and like other here have mentioned, it good to be finally getting these beers from Ontario brewers. Slacks (480), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Sep 26, 2006 Draught @ beerbistro: Another honest IPA from an Ontario brewer? Huzzah! Pours a great copper with a removable head. Aroma of hops, pine, and some citrus; excellent! The flavour is top notch with a burst of hops that makes way for a melange of flavours including roasted malts alongside the citrus and pine I found in the scent. Heavy on the hops, as I’d hoped, but quite well balanced with the more subtle supporting flavours. Loved it. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Sep 16, 2006 On tap at the Black Tomato, Ottawa, Gold orange ale with a thin white head.. Aroma of floral piney hops, with light berry notes. In mouth, a good biscuitty malt with classy floral hops. Medium bodied. A good IPA, but not as hoppy as the name suggest (but for Ontario standards, pretty decent). Nekronos (2243), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 15, 2006 Too hopy for me, it was very well brewed, very dark, good foam and not annoying but too bitter.
