href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/ontario/ target=blank>The Volo in Toronto. Golden amber in colour, dissipating off-white head, some lace. The aroma is quite floral, some sweet caramel malts, light lemon. The large amounts of floral hops carry over to the flavour, some light orange citrus, caramel malt balance. Bitter dry mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with some moderate hop bitterness, floral and dry. Interesting. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Fresh, citrusy, piny hop aroma w/ notes of caramel & toffee. Thick, chewy feel. Big hoppy flavour but well-supported w/ lots of sweet malt. Finish was bitter & dry, but also mildly green & leafy w/ notes of tobacco & tea. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada

Aroma of piney, citrus hops, with some malt too. Light copper, small custard head. Taste starts off very hoppy, a fine malty backbone soon presents itself. Medium bodied, well balanced between the sweet malt and it’s appreciated bitterness. Really fine example. Kudos to Ralph for inspiring the brewer! SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

Beautiful clear, medium amber with a beige head and good lacing. Nice balanced malt and hop aroma, light brown sugar and caramel notes, english style dusty, herbal hops. Sweet caramel maltiness up front, fading to a bold hoppiness, lots of floral and herbal dusty flavors. Medium body and gentle carbonation. My favorite of the Ontario IPA’s on this day. rudolf (1758), Buffalo, New York, USA

Nice aroma of piney and resiny hops along with some citrus and caramel malt in the back. Great hoppy flavour, also piney and resiny, with some malt and fruit in the middle and a nice bitter finish -- very tasty. Light to medium body. This is a great session IPA, I hope to have many pints of this at Volo -- kudos to Durham! HogTownHarry (4000), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2006 Updated: Mar 5, 2008Draught. At Volo. First, this has one of the coolest tap handles I’ve seen - a big plastic syringe filled with hops. Poured deep clear copper with a small white head. Aroma of mixed citrus, light resin and slightly funky hops, decent sweet juicy malt and a hint of leafiness. The hops in the taste seemed primarily piney, with some citrus - enough slightly toasty malt to remind you this isn’t just all about the hops. Average to slightly weak body, light astringency, has a longish finish - very very drinkable - I agree with jerc, just a little more malt takes this beyond a solid session patio beer.
