Do not put ketchup on your fires and go back and have a sip of this, you will feel the hops take over your face. AGAquino (95), San Juan, Puerto Rico

Newest batch early 2007 not so good - hops have faded, leaving behind the all too generic English based malts dominating the proceedings. Bring back the hops - turn them up not down, especially with a name like this! I’ll average the cores out until I try it again. Original rating: On tap at Volo. Dark orange, small white head. Nice citrus hop aroma - grapefruit - and some sweet malt notes. Nice hop taste - this is an English style session ale, lots of rich caramel and sweet notes with a noticeably American hoppy bite - very similar to the new Headstrong, but even better in my opinion - a little less body but much more hops. Only complaint: because the body is a little thin, it becomes a little too sweet and then unbalanced as it warms. But served chilled, this is a great Ontario beer and a nice effort by Durham. And they should be commended for pushing our conservative little Province wide envelope. MrManning (1659), London, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 5, 2008 On tap at C’est what? Copper liquid is topped with a frothy beige cap. The aroma is heavy citric hops(mostly grapefruit)with some pine, followed by bready, cookie dough and caramel. Taste is bright cirtus rind hops, fresh leafy greens and pine with some butterscotch and caramel sweetness. This is quite dry and chalky, and finishes bitter and and tasty. I wish it was available near me! Beer Snob (382), Ontario, Canada

Jeez, I like everything I’ve tasted from this brewery. Have been craving a good IPA, and this quenched it nicely.
Nice pile of hops cut with a touch of malt. A hint of citrus and a wonderful bitter tang left behind in the mouth.

Good bitterness, significant hops and malted. Balanced. However, Run-of-the-mill IPA but nicely drinkable. A good effort by a local microbrewery. Served on the too-cold side at Smokeless. Creamier and lacier when had a year later at Victory.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 14, 2006 Draught at Volo. Pours a clear golden-orange with a small diminishing white head. Nice aroma of piney and resiny hops along with some citrus and caramel malt in the back. Great hoppy flavour, also piney and resiny, with some malt and fruit in the middle and a nice bitter finish -- very tasty. Light to medium body. This is a great session IPA, I hope to have many pints of this at Volo -- kudos to Durham!
