Immediately lighter than its bigger brother, but there is the hoppy bite along with a slightly medicinal herby flavour, pleasant, with a background lemony note. Decent enough.

Aroma of citrus, herbal spices, vanilla, light honey, toast, and toffee malts. Taste of citrus fruits, vanilla, pils malt, some honey, toasted malts, and a dry, yeasty finish. bluevegie (2212), Perth, Australia

Big clumps of lacing. Very light aroma of doughy bread, light fruits and yeast. Taste is what the nose promises, don’t pick up the alcohol, drinkable but doesn’t do a lot for me.

Belgian nose of peppery spice, clove, lemon and gooseberry fruit. Soft and dusty with impression of spice (coriander). Slick creamy m/f, some cherryish alcohol notes and heat, vanilla pale malt creaminess. Straw with a fine snowy collar collapsing to a yeast- speckled lid. Oh yes. malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 2, 2008 On tap @ Fourth Avenue Pub. Bright gold with lasting white head and a little lace. Sweet melony and spicy yeasty aroma. Mild sweet melony flavor with medium spicy hop bite. Medium-light body, a little watery, and medium carbo. LIke regular Duvel but much less. Almost like a pilsner except for a little fruitiness. I had high expectations. Really, not that exciting. Not sure how long the novelty will last on this one, especially as it is one of the most expensive beers out there on tap. May even make people reconsider their very high ratings of regular Duvel. I think they should have gone with Duvel Triple Hop on draft instead. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Slightly cloudy light gold, smallish white head. Grassy, sweet, slightly stale aroma. Taste follows - herbal, papery, cloying. Sticky, flat mouthfeel, somewhat weedy - a little old, but not bad.
