The aroma is very much like the red Duvel which is one of my favourite beers. This clear filtered version has less creaminess and body than the red. Nice citric fruit still though. Nice and juicy. Prefer the red label though. Bart (1653), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 29, 2006 light clear yellow colour, some more clear than the ordinary Duvel. Small white head, Light malty aroma, medium to full body, some sweeter touches, light bitter, not bad, but I prefer the Red Duvel, which has more body, and finish. sayravai (3752), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2006 Clear golden with a medium, big-bubbled head. The honey-fruity, slightly alcoholic nature of Duvel is present in the aroma. The flavor, on the other hand, is quite a bit more harsh and acidic after the filtration, and the alcohol is more pronounced. Lots of cooked vegetables, actually. The acidity sticks to teeth for a long time. Medium-bodied, very carbonated palate. Like a filtered Hefeweizen, this really feels raped. More alcoholic than the regular one, despite the 1% less ABV. Another one into the never again category. HenrikSoegaard (4364), Randers, Denmark

I perceived it to be a slightly more moderate, smaller version of the original but no one has ever given me a satisfactory explanation. Side-by-side, the red wins in that it’s just so much fuller. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2006 A pale golden beer with a firm white head. A good aroma of malts and a bit fruity. The taste is the same bit with some dry sweetness in the aftertaste. A good beer. (Bottle 25cl)
