Bright lively palate and a sweet floral taste but with a watery finish. TheJester (712), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2009 On tap at Cole’s. Kinda white-gold in colour, with a small (for Duvel) head. Smells like Duvel (spicy-citrussy) with something woody added in. Very herbal/medicinal in flavour, almost artificial. Strange, but very drinkable. DaSilky1 (1989), San Diego, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Sampled at tap and mallet, rochester, ny...on draft: Super musty smell, mildew, white pepper, mist from a commercial grade disney-land style mist maker...below this was the banana-like yeast esters. Duvel looking clear, white head starting tall and shrinking slowly. Wet mouthfeel with a somewhat dirty and metallic flavor..mainly yeasty with stale apple flavors covered in tin. Kind of falls flat flavor and palate-wise whereby the aroma promised a lot more prospective. Baretender said he prefered this to regular duvel even going as far as to say that regular duvel is like molson. I believe that his dreads were a bit too tight. Fred82 (399), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Great lacing. Aroma is malty and hoppy. Taste is like aroma. Some bitterness on the finish. Quite crisp. It definitely has the spirit of the Duvel. Good beer but nothing really special. emacgee (1888), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Draft at Tylers Taproom in Carborro. Pours a pale yellow with a two finger frothy white head. The nose is earthy with a very present yeast character, spicy hop aroma, mild sweetness. Flavor is dryer than the original, earthy yeasty character upfront, grapefruit rind hop feel. Palate is nicely carbonated with a citrus rind bitterness. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA

Appearance: Slightly cloudy yellow with a large, rocky, white head.
Aroma: Musty yeast and a little barnyard. Fairly light.
Taste: A little grainy, floral, green apple, and a solid hop bitterness. Some fruitiness emerges as the beer warms.
Palate: Medium-high carbonation with a light, slightly dry mouthfeel. Short finish.
Overall: Not bad, but I still like the original better. j12601 (1299), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Pouring from the big Ommegang truck at BCTC. Here it gets badged as Duvel Green, but I must say, I much prefer Duvel Groen. Or, Duvel Groan as I like to think of it, because it’s just not all that fantastic. Though not entirely groan worthy, but nothing to write home about. Unless you’re writing home about a mediocre beer that’s been getting a lot of advertising dollars thrown at it in the craft beer community. Pours a clear yellow with a huge white head. Grainy and a little wit like. Light bitter finish. Very easy drinking, but why bother?
