Golden colour and clear. Has a white head, fully lasting. Aroma has some good fruit-notes, malt, fresh. Flavor starts sweet and finish heavy bitter. Medium to full body.

[1256-20080405] 250mL bottle. Floral grains and sweet malt aroma has some dry earthy cocoa powder notes. Clear, yellow brown body with a big bubbly white foam upon pouring. Alcoholic grainy water flavour hints mildly at green beans. Medium body is a little astringent. Interesting aroma but flavour doesn’t deliver much.

Served a 25cl bottle at my brothers house in Belgium - in the middle of a beer tasting - liked it very much, very similar to the regular Duvel.

Bottle @ Mondial 2008. Aroma is malt, yeast, wheat? and a hint of citrus, light amber, a much smaller white head than it’s big brother. Flavour is malt, with strong alcohol. Full bodied, has a harshness not found in the big bro. This has been on my wish list for a long time, it was great to finally try it.

Bottle at Cambrinus in Brugge. Light "poperinge" hop aroma. Dark golden color with a coarse, large white head. Medium body with fine carbonation. Flavor is light alcohol, pale malt and floral hop. Actually refreshing. Finishes dry with bitter around the edges of the tongue.

Bottle. Clear golden colour with a medium white head and a good lacing. Aroma and taste of malts, fruits and spicys. Good beer.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy, jerc & tupalev - courtesy of jerc. Pale gold with a medium white head. Aroma is quite herbal and spicy with some mellow grain notes. Flavour is pleasant and well balanced, moderately sweet to start with herbal hops in the lingering finish. Not nearly as good as the main Duvel, but still pretty nice.
