I think this beer is a lot better than others are rating. Very crisp, dry, but with a lot of character. Lemon and parsley. Try it with eggs and toast or fish or something similarly light and enjoy. Excellent beer. CharlesDarwin (1846), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 18, 2009 On tap at the Ginger Man - NYC. Pours a brilliant, sparkling crystal golden, with a tuft of rocky, well-lacking ultra-white head. Aroma is of clean, spring-like freshness, based on cool pilsener malt. The flavor is beautiful. Light, gentle, clean airy pilsener malt is complementing by the house, characteristic yeast profile, but none of the alcoholic complexities, lacking depth in pear, apple, and spice. Supremely drinkable, even at 7-something. Fresh, prickling with carbonation, cool, and bright. This is a delicious classic Belgian Ale. The curtness of the yeast offers balance to the mineral and pilsener malt qualities that just harken a warm, spring mid-morning somewhere in a western European river valley, dunking your toes in a small stream, eating crusty bread, and rustic cheese with a loved one, trees blossoming and birds singing. This beer is as cresting a work of pilsener malt and belgian yeast as one could ask for. Stunning and likely, under appreciated. Just don’t go in expecting the traditional Duvel, or you’ll be disappointed. joppenl (1), Netherlands does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Nice yeasty, fresh taste. pretty dry. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2003 The filtered classic beer, carbonated artificially, so it is clear, light golden with a fine white head. Big clean beer with excellent bitterness and blance with a density of esters that is extremely pleasant. Good head retention but not a rocky head. Will not evolve in the bottle like it's bottled conditionned twin. SuIIy (1452), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Draft at Red Bones. Pours a bright crisp yellow color with a golden hue. A big foamy bright as can be head arrives with the pour. Nose is fragrant and flowery with a nice yeast hint. This beer is so crisp and clean it amazes me. The palate is smooth, once again crisp and clean. Flavors of crisp grass notes, some light hay, a little bit of yeastiness, some very nice herbal notes that I cant quite place. boy this is enjoyable. Its almost like a 7% session beer! Bov (5455), Bienne, Switzerland

Pours a very clear light gold with signature Duvel head, retention and lacing are nowhere near as classic as the original. Aroma on the other hand is very enjoyable, dry crisp and slightly spicy, very hop forward. Flavor is very dry, just a hint of pils malt and some yeast notes, lots of grassy and earthy hoppiness. Josh O. shared with us during Iron Liver VI. Nice head, thick with small bubbles. Very nice fruity aroma that was really friendly for my nose. Ahh, good! Nice feel, light cream, yeast, end decently bitter.
