fidelis83 (221), Clinton, Iowa, USA Jul 6, 2008 Pours lemonade pale with HUGE white foamy head that lasts and lasts if your not careful you won’t be drinking it for a while because your glass is 2/3 foam. Aroma is very pleasant grass and pine ...pilsner like but a distinct note of clover flower as it warms is pretty unique. Flavor is mild sweet and fruity at first then, dried fruit then that clover flower again, and a little licorice, maybe I just have summer on my mind. Finish is somewhat drier than you would expect but very nice green apples on the very back. A great beer that everyone should try once in their life.
ROGUE (387), Newark, Delaware, USA Jan 7, 2009 750ml and 330ml bottle. Poured a golden color with sparkling clarity. Big foamy white head with good retention.
Aroma has some hop spiciness, a bit of alcohol, and an earthy character from the yeast. Taste is mild hops with a fruity maltiness. A slightly spicy lemon orange. Well balanced and alcohol is well hidden. Medium body, high carbonation, slight alcohol warming.
MishkinBeer (26), , New York, USA Jan 4, 2009 Duvel pours cloudy with a light gold color. Tart flavors arise including orange peel. There’s a lot of fizziness here. The tartness rather than bitterness lingers at the end. For the price you’ll pay for this, I’d probably keep looking. bonfunck (54), Waasmunster, Belgium Jan 3, 2009 33cl bottle, when it is a young beer it clear golden blond and it has a aggressive hoppy taste with strong bitterness;
When the beer is 1 year old its beginning to become blur and its much smoother and less aggressive the after taste stays longer
thenumber1g (50), Cary, North Carolina, USA Jan 2, 2009 Kinda of reminded me of a saison, it was good but not great! I liked the Hennepin that I drank afterward better! OzarkElmo (14), , Missouri, USA Jan 1, 2009 Updated: Jan 3, 2009One of many New Year’s Beers I tasted. Not worth the $$$ in my opinion, that is why I gave it an 8 overall. Lots of hype, not a lot of delivery. Golden color, yeasty and carbonated, heady. I’d rather have a Miller Lite.
2nd round on January 2nd. Better experience this time, poured into Stella glass. Increased rating a bit - but it is still over-priced IMO OE
