Fruity, citrus and floral aroma - the best part of this beer. Taste is harsh, metallic, medicine like. Alcohol as well. Short harsh finish. Nice try. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a clear bubbly gold with a small diminishing white head. Very sweet aroma of sugar, spices and medicinal alcohol. Light Lager flavour with some licorice and that aforementioned medicinal alcohol. Very light bodied. I’m not sure why anyone would buy this but I don’t like it at all. Shared with blankboy, GregClow, tupalev, Dave B and R - courtesy of R. Poured bubbly pale gold with a small fizzy white head. Aroma is not that different from their boring gingembre - sweet sharp floral ginger with an odd woody funkiness that I assume is absinthe. The taste is like a sweet macro pale lager with fizzy medicinal metallic jangling notes. Mouthfeel is watery and fizzy - I didn’t like it much at all. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Gloden colour with a small white head. Aroma is sharp, very sweet with a medicinal tang. Oily mouthfeel. Flavour of a strong, harsh lager with a bit of licorice before the chemically finish. A questionable experiment gone horribly wrong... fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Hazy golden, small creamy head with a good lacing. Spicy, herbal, anise-like nose. Lightly sweetish and malty, but actually rather light-bodied. Honestly I’ve never tasted absinthe, but it’s definitely a very unusual flavour, and it’s pretty much hit or miss whether you like it or not. Comes in a weird aluminum bottle. 110705 Pernille (518), Copenhagen, Denmark

Very interesting flavor. Almost like metallic fruit. Heghly recommendable for an experience that makes you think and wonder.. krisbierjaeger (844), dolores, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 5, 2005 from this dandy piece of spun metalwork issues a "beer" the dirty yellow of a humid sunset over a traffic clogged midwest city-- or, more charitably if you prefer-- perhaps like summer grain waving in undulating blurs and heat waves in the provencial hinterland. the product has very little sustainable head; what i saw was white and smooth-- which was reassuring since i anticipated a soda-poppy alco malt beverage. i’m not an absynthe expert by any means, and i have no idea if this contains wormwood or it’s accompanying mind-bending chemical thujone; but allow me to conject that this aims more to exploit a pop-mythic allure than it has any desireable flavor deriving from absythne. i do enjoy ricard 51, and this has no resemblance to that. from jenlain’s absinthe i get little conspicuous anise. rather, i get the woodruff which is associated with retsina, a greek flavored wine. both in aroma and flavor it’s sweet green tea, wheat, and rather medicinal. it’s a fairly simple and unoffensive light lemony beverage, with an almost creamy feel, nearly medium bodied. it does push my limits of palatability with a moderate sweetness that has little balancing depth or bitterness. it’s not really my cup of tea, and i didn’t experience any vincent van gogh-ish dementia causing me to paint brilliant landscapes and annoy girl friends with gifts of ear tartar. however, as a change of pace, as silktork says, it’s amusing, and i love a bit of innocent amusement-- just don’t get in my way when i’m ready for a real beer.
