I had this once before I started rating and had no intention of ever having it again -- damn you RateBeer! Pours a somewhat flat looking clear pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma is ginger-ish along with a few other spices and a touch of lemon -- but it’s also kind of artificial. Flavour’s the same and it’s somewhat watery -- but very carbonated. It’s pretty much like a generic Ginger Ale so avoid if you’re in the mood for something resembling beer. Not sure how you rate something that doesn’t taste like beer at all? Oh well, nothing else to add...Edited to add: when it starts to warm up it tastes like flat Ginger Ale. Ugh. JoeMcPhee (5010), Jackson Heights, New York, USA

Aroma is soapy, faint ginger and sweet lemon-lime soda. Flavour is sweet and nasty with sugary notes of Desparados. Only Duyck can deliver this kind of vile nastiness. Both sweet and metallic. Vile. Smells like a weak witbier with hints of apple, ginger and lemon. Tastes like ginger ale and a Hoegaarden knock-off blended - ugh. Mouthfeel is watery, stingingly lively - oh gawd, I’m a ratings slut - I drank this swill before I started rating and "thanks" to the LCBO bringing it back this spring, I just had to drink it again. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 12, 2006 Metal bottle. Golden body with average carbonation and thin white bubbly head. Malty/bready aroma with fresh hoppy and ginger notes. Taste is rather thin and carries bad corny and metallic hints. Short bittersweet finish. Boring. Tessic (473), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 18, 2006 This beer poured a clear yellow with no head. The first sniff was strong with ginger, Dill, vegtables and a little yeast. First sip was weak and watery but original. Not as bad tasting as the initial scent. Could find ginger, cloves anda slight hoppy flavour? The finish was nothing but ginger but the palate was like most spiced ales fiulijn (7420), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

Poured clear, pale yelllow. Smell the spices (mostly ginger) right away. Interesting, like a cider/tea/beer. Small head with some lacing. Nice when you want one or two beers on a hot day. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 30, 2005 Light golden colour with a thin lacing white head. Spiced malt with the ginger comming discretely. In mouth, light bodied beer with faint ginger marrying well with the sweet malt. Some juniper notes come out. Quite decent for a ginger beer, but too restrained. Bought at LCBO.
