| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 17, 2005 Can/bottle hybrid (Cottle?). A blonde coloured beer with a large whit head and reasonable lacing. The aroma is heavy on the ginger together with a little toilet cleaner which seems common in these ginger beers. The taste is like a reasonable golden ale with some subtle ginger notes. Quite thin but tasty. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 14, 2005 Aluminum bottle. Golden colour with a frothy white head. Light ginger and lemony aroma. Ginger ale flavour with a light bitter finish. Very light, fizzy, soda-like mouthfeel. albert007 (409), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 13, 2005 Aluminum bottle. Clear golden, thin white head & lace. Dominant ginger-ale aroma. Ginger flavor, mildly bitter with a sweetish aftertaste. Refreshing, could picture haviing an ice-cold one in the middle of the summer. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 24, 2005 Alumabottle. Lager aroma with a discernable ginger character. Clear gold in color with steady, pervasive visible carbonation. Large, white head that diminishes. Nice lace. Refreshing with a tasteful ginger flavor. Ginger fans, this brew is for you. The thing I like about this brew is that it is different. Without the ginger flavoring, this is another run of the mill, lager tasting brew. With it, it is a stand out. I could see this beer go swimmingly with some spicy chinese food, especially dishes prepared with ginger. The allumabottle is exceptionally attractive, from the copper upper half to the silver lower half and piercing fire engine red "J" in the middle of the bottle. I love the type font as well. I feel as though I made a discovery with this beer, being only the 3rd to rate it and given its considerable redeeming qualities. I found it at an LCBO in Thunder Bay, Ontario in July ’05. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 24, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy, pale golden with a small, white head. Distinct aroma of ginger. Body is rather light with a weak, underlying sweetness. Otherwise it’s ginger all over. Pretty dry but no real bitterness. Weird aluminum bottle. 240805 ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2005 Funny 33 cl aluminum bottle. Blonde, clear with white big bubbled head with excellent retention. Aroma is heavy with peppery ginger. The flavor is very dry and watery, dominated by ginger, and reminds me a lot of a soda po(o)p. Ends dry without bitterness. I do not like ginger in beers, but I appreciate when people try to do something different, which explains the high overall rating, even though I couldn’t finish it. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Aug 9, 2005 whoa...not a fan of this one. Carbonated ginger water. Who are they trying to impress with this? Yuck. Drain pour. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 21, 2005 Not too impressed. The oversweetness was not warranted because the ginger flavour was so mild. Thin, gassy body and barely palpable ginger aroma. Somewhat pleasant, but give me a Jamaican ginger beer with dark rum and it’ll kick this beer’s ass into the ground any day.
