Bottle. Nose is estery, full of banana and apple notes behind yeasty sourness. Gorgeous beer. Fantastic lacing, beautiful active carbonation, a fine light amber color. Flavor is spot on for the style, but unfortunately not my favorite style nonetheless. It sits well on the palate and is enjoyable, though uncomplex.

Bottle drunk somewhere in Duras. Nice 750ml corked bottle from which I poured a very attractive clear amber (no surprise there then) beer with a slightly banana-tinged head. Distinct smell of herbs and young apples. Taste was quite surprising, with an oddball funk quality, caramel and bags of spices. It was one of those beers that took me some time to decide whether I liked or not. It’s different alright......but I just don’t know.

I’ve been drinking Jenlain for years, buying it direct from the brewery in the late 70s. As output from the brewery has grown over the years and Jenlain has become more popular, the beer has lost nothing of its distinctive taste. Goes down a treat, especially with some smoked ham or Cantal cheese !

Clearn unfiltered red pour. Thick lasting head. Herby scent, a bit grassy, almost salad like? Very boozy taste. They definately don’t try to hide the booze in this one. Love the logo. One of the best French beers I have had.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear orange gold with a large, off-white head and lots of tiny carbonation bubbles which settled down after several minutes. Light, pleasant aroma of malt and a touch of yeast. Flavor is also a bit on the light side with malt and yeast both present in the flavor. There is a very light flavor of saltine crackers at the finish along with a light alcohol burn.

Can. A nice malty taste and hoppy flavour. Real dark brown in colour very good.

50 cL can. Pours with off-white head and orange colour. Aroma is malty and straw/hops. Creamy mouthfeel. Good soft/sweet caramel malty taste which goes into a soft bitterness. Ends slight sweet malty.
