Spicy fruity aroma with clear red orange colour and no head. Spiritus short flavour with fizzy palate.

500ml can: This one is an amber color. The beer is a bit fizzy with a slightly off white head, but it dies down quickly. The aroma is mild, but somewhat caramel malty sweet. The taste is better than the aroma. There is a medium bodied caramel sweetness to the taste, but also a fairl amount of complexity. Some nuttiness, fruitiness, with a hint of spices and hops. Flavor could be a bit stronger. Really excellent for a can beer!

This is a very tricky beer. At first, it’s aroma did not announce a very rich beer. I found the color rather unique but I am not very familiar with this style. The least I could say is that the appearance was inviting. The first mouthful was impressive as an army of flavour invaded me. Sweet and malt were at the party while a nice aftertaste grew nicely. A good beer for spring.

Bottled. A peaty sweet smell. The beer is brown with a big white head. The flavour is a bit of a mish mash with a whiskey type feel to it, but much too sweet.

[11.2 bottled June 03] Chunky thick white head left layers of lace that still kling to the glass. Aroma is sweet and malty. Caramel apple! Taste...not so hot. Really just too sweet. I'll rerate once one ages, but I don't have too much hope.

Bottle. Lots of nuts in the aroma almond essence and hazelnuts, with caramel, malt and slight woody vinousness. Slightly sweet with an out of place bitterness. My first biere de garde - nothing special but at 3 euro a sixpack I cant complain.

Aroma is malt, orange, a bit metallic and noticeable alcohol. Appearance is amber heading toward red and hazy with a smallish head. Flavour starts metallic gives way to broad citrus and finishes with an orangey malt zest and sweet flowery honey. Gentle to mild carbonation and a mouthfeel that matches the drink.

Amber/Red pour and clear. Ample carb. Sweet. Fruity. Kiwi I guess. Kind of citric. Biere de garde. Does that mean "Hey you, beer guy, watch out!" It was good. I don't understand why they have such regard for such a simplistic style. Am I wrong? (email me). I had a Vienna right after and I didn't do Snoopy dances or anything. Question?: Is Old Vienna (O.V.) any good. I would expect they would be the troubadour of the style.
