| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Lightly golden color with a taller off-white head. First sniff impession... are you sure this is not a malt liquor? Grains, white grapes, light grass and bit of honey in the nose. Not bad, just not a Bière de Garde scent. Grainy start with a bit of earth in the backdrop. Middle has a bit of alcohol that carries into the finish and linger. For a brew listed as 5.4% that is not necessarily a good thing. Some sharp bitterness in the finish as well. A earthy floor malt component that sticks in the linger. I see that the description indicates to be served chilled, perhaps cellar temperature is not forgiving for this brew. Low strength, but euro strong lager flavors. Just doesn’t work for me. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2008 Hazy deep golden with a largey finely bubbled white head leaving gentle lace. Surprisingly malty aroma, sweet, with dried grass and subtle perfume. Sweet cereal maltiness, hints of chamomille, reedy/stemmy bitterness. Certainly malt-heavy, very nice. puzzl (2646), New York, New York, USA
