| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 9, 2005 750 ml bottle, no date that I could find. Slightly ruddy/hazy copper-red, largish lasting off-white head....big malty-caramel nose with hints of plum, sweet smoke and oranges....quite sweet and thick, almost cloying, little yeastiness, lots of caramel and grape and a bit of vanilla...on the finish, lightly bitter...carbonation low. I agree largely with what argo0 posted just below, though it worked a bit better for me...closer to a dubbel than anything else. argo0 (6978), Washington DC, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2005 (75cl bottle) Clear copper body with medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, orange liqueur. Taste is medium sweet, orange, some spice, plum. Finishes with light alcohol astringency. Watery medium body, somewhat undercarbonated. Definitely not at all what I think of from a BdG. Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 1, 2005 Updated: Aug 1, 2005(Bottle 75 cl) I’ve had this beer years ago, but apparently Duyck has changed the recipe to "Nouveau Gout". Aromatized with oranges (artificially?) and it really shows. Almost a bit of Grand Marnier in this one too... Brown, almost chestnut-brown, not much head. Surprisingly light body for it’s strength. Bitterness only shows in the finish. 221203

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 23, 2005 Bottle was corked and caged. Large sized ivory head that was mostly lasting, fine-medium sized bubbles, good lacing, carbonated, transparent, and a reddish brown hue. Aroma was malty, caramel and sweet. Flavor was sweet, lightly bitter, malty, and caramel. Mouthfeel was smooth and thin. Light-medium body. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 15, 2005 The beer upon its pour from the 750ml green caged and corked bottle sets in my glass a luminous dark copper color with the head mastodonic in size, semi-creamy in texture and the color a nice light tan, after its destruction, a velum like sheet of lace surrounds the glass. Nose has a hint of chocolate and over ripe black cherries, also a touch of mushrooms, pleasant and appealing with the start sweet and the grain profile adequate with the top light to medium in feel. Finish has a disturbing acidity with the hops prickly in their spiciness, somewhat vinous, dry as a bleached desert bone, and a nice change of pace for me. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2005 This pours clear copper with a fizzy tan head. The aroma is grainy with caramel, orange, and floral scents. It has a spicy taste, hot malt with orange peel, white pepper, and a bit of nuttiness. It’s got a crisp, hop bitter finish. Tasty stuff. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Dark amber color with a large off white head. The aroma is strong bread with some orange peel and deep citrus. The taste is sharp dark bread with a little bit of some oranges. This is almost like a light IPA. There is a light black pepper finish. This is a nice change of pace. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Clear reddish, amber body with a thick, fluffy off-white head. Slightly sweet, fruity malt nose. Sweet orange blossoms, caramel, whole grains, cinnamon, fresh baked bread and a layer-deep down-of earthy, subtle hops. The body is smooth and creamy with the mild effervescence providing depth and character. The flavors are pretty well crafted and almost completely devoid of fruity ale yeast remnants. The malt is the dominate force with just a touch of spicy orange peel and bitter hops at the finish. A tasty, well-crafted offering that’s much better than the other’s I’ve had from Duyck.
