Orange beer with moderate head-some pretty decent lacing. Sweet malty aroma with hints of overipe fruit. Has a herbal sweet flavor like basil and brown sugar-a little too sweet for my taste. It has as slight medicinal quality in the finish. Feh. Not a big fan of this.

The color was brassy/golden. The head was thin, white, and fizzy. The aroma was sweet, some fruit, and grass. The flavor was sweet, medicinal, and some fruit. The palate was medium-bodied. The finish was medicinal.

Pours a very vibrant had yellow with a one finger creamy white head. Almost beautiful in the sunlight. Smells grassy, fusel alcohol/rubbing alcohol, sweet, hay, . The flavor is earthy, hay, sweet, grassy, mild hop bite, warm alcohol, tastes mildly aged. The mouthfeel is substantial, probably given the alcohol. Mild carbonation and a clean hop bite. Finishes warm and mildly waxy.

In short: Farmhouse nose, smooth ripe fruits body, crisp grassy hops. Average quality French Bière de Garde
How: Bottle, 750ml, from kmweaver or drewbeerme, thanks a lot.
The look: Clear golden body with a large white head with medium retention
In long: Very interesting farmhouse nose reminiscent of the fellow Frenchman Thiriez beers. Taste is not as interesting as the nose. I consumed the bottle a few weeks after acquiring it. Maybe the bottle wasn’t fresh (I doubt so) but I really I had impression of an excellent beer a bit past its due-date. Wet white bread with too-ripe fruits flavours (apples, peach and apricots) and soft honey. Some pleasant cobwebs really save the day. Well balance with that type of hops grassy hops. Weird how the attack and malt profile feel old and soft and the hop finish feel fresh and crisp. Actually quite tasty. Appropriate soft carbonation. Alcohol apparent. I’d say that of all the French Bière de Garde I’ve ever had this one was… well… yet another one.

Sampled from a 750 ml green bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a very large soapy white head. The aroma was tangy, sweetish and skunked. The flavor was sugary, sweet, tangy and lightly fruity but also rather skunky. I think that I would have liked this one if it had not been light struck. God only knows why any brewer would ruin a beer by putting it in a green bottle.

75 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a huge white head. Mild caramel malt and light hops aroma. Sweet caramel flavour with a light fruity note. Ends with a grassy dryness yet still mixed with a mild fruity note.

Bottle. Large fin bubbled and mostly lasting head. Good display of lacework. Clear sparkling body with a yellow color. Aroma was very dusty like with notes of grain, hay, hint of spice, orange, caramel, fruit, yeast and grass. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and mild dry and dusty texture. Moderated sweet flavor with a hint of bitterness. Dusty malty sweet finish.
