Quite sweetish on the nose, with some caramel and tropical fruits. Sweet, lightly caramelized flavor, with fruityness, especially in the finish. Medium body. There’s a little farm-ish twist to the beer, which I find nice. (070608) jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA

The same is true for the flavors, the beer finishes almost too hot. The typical style elements such as a tartness, some Belgian yaestiness are still present but they are overpowered by the alcohol. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

At Siebel Brewer’s Academy (Goose Island Brewpub, Chicago - Clybourn) Belgian tasting May 24 2007. Pale clear gold with an average creamy off-white head. Aroma of grassy pungent hops, sugary malt, slightly fusel alcohol - quite herbal, really. Tasted of honey, clover, floral hops, sweet malt with a somewhat herbal and mild-moderate alcohol bitter finish and linger. Average sticky body, decently carbonated, and a slight increase of honey/sugar in the finish. Grassy and sweet, maybe a tad too sweet. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2007 12 oz bottle via MALT OF THE EARTH BEER CLUB. Pours a clear amber with a large white head. Not getting much from the nose on this one just some mild sweet fruit. Taste starts sweet caramel, then some peache and pear flavor, some biscuit, and some subtle floral hops in the finish. Body is medium, carbonation moderate. This is actually much better than I thought it would be, as I do not normally care much for this style, however this one is pretty tasty.
