Commercial Description:
Editor’s Note: Formerly known as Fraîche de l’Aunelle.

Brewed according to a recipe dating back to 1922, this "revisited" blond beer is a great thirst quencher, appreciated by lovers of traditional and innovative beers! Pale blond in colour and naturally cloudy, being unfiltered, Jenlain Fraîche is pleasing to the eye and to the palate, with its fine, light taste. Stronger than white beer and less bitter than blond beer, it has a subtle hint of hazelnut which gives it its characteristic fruitiness. With its low alcohol content (5 % alcohol by volume), it is also low in calories. Best served chilled but not too cold, at between 5 and 6 °C. The striking design of the bottle with its "condensation" effect, as if taken fresh from the fridge, and cool blue-green tones, is closer to the world of mineral and sparkling waters. Jenlain Fraîche stands out as a beer that is subtle, simple, accessible and extremely refreshing.

An interesting looking organic beer, which is not filtered or pasteurised. Pale blonde colour. Sediment. Slightly cloudy and develops a very heavy chill haze if cooled. Some citrus notes but little else worthy of comment. Full marks for the concept, but the execution is rather weak. Drinkable enough but a little bland. 330 ml bottle, France, December 2003.

Big white head and a cloudy yellow/orange colour. Spicy and lemony aroma, thatis slightly unpleasant. Gentle bitter wheat beeresk flavour. Overall a reasonable beer that reseambles some form of wheat beer.

Pale gold - a little anaemic with a nice white head. Weak lemon drink aroma with a touch of spice. Flavour is sweet and sour with more sourness on the finish. Quite thin, but unusual.

It really should be very natural this brew but it doesn´t look very appetizing; more like the last doping-test-sample from an East-German Hammer-thrower, but the taste is quite good.

Cloudy whitish yellow. Difficult for me to get the nuances of the aroma, but there is a certain freshness about it. The flavour is a little sweet with citrusnotes. Not much bitterness but its crisp. Quite nice.

This is called ’Bionelle’ in DK. Very nice beer, a bit cloudy, refreshing with appropriate bitterness

A bit sour and sweet. Looks like a belgian white but tastes totally different.
