Commercial Description:
Editor’s Note: Formerly known as Fraîche de l’Aunelle.

Brewed according to a recipe dating back to 1922, this "revisited" blond beer is a great thirst quencher, appreciated by lovers of traditional and innovative beers! Pale blond in colour and naturally cloudy, being unfiltered, Jenlain Fraîche is pleasing to the eye and to the palate, with its fine, light taste. Stronger than white beer and less bitter than blond beer, it has a subtle hint of hazelnut which gives it its characteristic fruitiness. With its low alcohol content (5 % alcohol by volume), it is also low in calories. Best served chilled but not too cold, at between 5 and 6 °C. The striking design of the bottle with its "condensation" effect, as if taken fresh from the fridge, and cool blue-green tones, is closer to the world of mineral and sparkling waters. Jenlain Fraîche stands out as a beer that is subtle, simple, accessible and extremely refreshing.

A light yellow beer with sediment floating around under a disappearing white head. The aroma is seet wheaty with hints of spices. The flavor is sweet and somewhat milky, combined with notes of wheat.

(Bottle 25 cl) Comes as "La Fraiche de L’Aunelle" at 5,5% ABV. One of the first organic beers in France. Oddly the brewery’s website mentions that this beer was voted "World’s best" in a Danish competition in Denmark in 2000! Well, no official contest, I can asure you... Light, slightly hazy with a gigantic head that settles very slowly. Huge sediment in the bottle. Extremely fresh aroma with a pronounced bitterness and a citric touch. Clear bottle. 190804 and 110606

Bottled. Hazy pale yellow with lively head. Papery malt aroma. Medium sweet, fresh and light bodied with soft, carboardy naltiness and a mild, flowery finish. A nice, easy-drinking unassuming little beer.

Bottled. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is earth, caramel, yeast, malts and slight grassy hops. Also some very "earthy" note, which I really cant describe that well.

25cl bottle from Auchan. Hazy golden beer with thick bubbly white head. Nice pale malt and lemon op aromas. Bit of nettle too. Some acid in mouth but mostly soft. End has some lemon zest. Better than the average blond, but still lacks that certain something

This beer with the promise of freshness in the name, has a golden color and a nice head. The aroma has notes of malt, a bit of hops and flower. The mouthfeel is rather flat. The flavour has light sweetness, notes of spice, malt, fruit, flower and citrus. I don’t think it’s fresh, and honestly I find it a bit boring, but drinkable. 1540

Bottle. Pours an enormous foamy head. Blonde. Fresh flavor with a very subtle bitterness and hints of soap and lemon. the emphasis is on freshness, but the beer is rather bland. Refreshing but uninteresting.
